The Space

The place was heavily damaged by the Boxing Day Tsunami, was beautifully restored and has since become a popular tourist guest house. It's got a nice hall where you can relax under the fan, where you can play music and where there's wifi. You can even use the kitchen if you want.
Interaction with Guests
Fairoos runs the place with his English-speaking colleague and his son Haniq. Together they've got lots of experience with tourists and they can arrange food, transportation and even wildlife safari's.
The Neighborhood
Long known among surfers as Sri Lanka's go-to surf destination, it was only after 2010 that tourists started flooding into the Arugam Bay - Pottuvil area. Don't worry, this is still Eastern Sri Lanka, so Starbucks is nowhere near, but with it's wide range of hotels, restaurants, bars and a small but serious surf scene, Arugam Bay really developed into a traveller boom town. Nearby Pottuvil is slowly catching up. Most people visit between April and October, but this part of Sri Lanka has much more to offer, such as the 2000 year-old Muhudu Maha Viharaya Temple and the famous National Parks of Yala, Gal Oya and Kumana.
Fairoo's itself is located just 30 metres from Arugam Bay beach and some 500 metres from the first major surfing spot. Pottuvil and the Muhudu Maha Viharaya Temple are just 2 miles away.
