The property is ideally located for holidays, both walking and exploring the picturesque and varied scenery of the National Park of Abruzzo. In the area there are ancient mountain villages retaining many of their original characteristics and customs. Places such as Roccacasale, Scanno or Cocullo are only a few of them. Close by is the larger town of Sulmona centre of the Italian Confetti industry producing brightly coloured sugared Almonds. The Birthplace of Ovid, Sulmona and the surrounding area was also chosen for the location setting of the recent film "The American" starring George Clooney.Well equipped Holiday home recenty fully renovated in a small town near Sulmona. From the bedroom on the second floor there are stairs to the roof terrace furnished with a table and 4 chairs where one can dine al fresco admiring the mountain view. The house is situated in a quiet area of the town, only 5 minutes walk from the town centre, Bus and Rail connections. Pratola Peligna benefits from many independant shops located throughout the town selling a wide range of everyday necessities through to luxury items. There is a good selection of Cafes and bars where one can sit and watch the world go by. A weekly market is held every Friday morning in the centre of town selling fresh fruit and vegetables, Fish, Cheese, Clothes etc. Porchetta the local roast pig is a speciality in the area. Pratola Peligna has the facility of an outdoor pool during the summer within walking distance. There is a larger Swimming Pool outside Pratola Peligna with a picnic area. Transport required. There are plenty of attractions in the surrounding area to do and see during your stay.
