From the owner

Villa Sofia is a 3 bedroom, recently renovated stone villa with a private pool, patio, veranda and adobe oven. Situated in the village of Prines, a traditional village near the city of Rethymno, the villa was built at the end of the 18th Century and was restored carefully in order to include many of the original features as well as modern aesthetic and appliances. The villa can accommodate up to 8 people.

Spatial Layout

The main entrance of the Villa faces north. Upon entering the house one views an open area consisting of a living-room, a fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area that is separated by a tall, stone arc. On this ground floor there is also a large bedroom with storage space and a full bath. The rear portion of the ground floor leads to a courtyard which contains a swimming pool, a sitting, relaxation & sunbathing area, an adobe oven and a barbecue space.

An office area is located at the mid-floor level.

A winding wooden staircase leads to the second floor where there are two bedrooms a full toilet/bath and a large veranda space. The master bedroom is features a Queen sized double bed and plenty of storage space. The second bedroom contains a sofa bed that can sleep 2 and a small staircase which leads to a cleverly constructed and situated bedroom attic space which contains a double bed. Finally, there is a large veranda space overlooking the village of Prines, the mountains, the oak forest and beautiful sunsets in the evening.

The property comes with free wi-fi, linen and towel change every 5 days, fully equipped kitchen with all basic cooking essentials and plenty of available parking spaces in the surrounding area.

Natural air conditioning is provided by the stone structure and the careful spatial planning, as cool air is channeled through the property to keep inhabitants cool, even during the hottest months of the summer.

Our hosting style really depends on our guests. Either myself (Manolis) or my father (Michalis) will always be available if guests need any type of help. We are happy to interact with you while making any type of reccomendation. We have both grown up in Crete and we try to be as knowledgeable as we can about the area. Please ask us anything that comes to mind! Of course we are aware that not all guests wish to be interactive with hosts. We value our guest's privacy and we respect guests who just want to be left alone.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    How do I edit my booking?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Manolis (the owner) a message.

    If Manolis (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
