Location
The resort is situated between the charming town of Paralimni and the village of Kapparis which marks the start of a series of beautiful coastal bays and coves. Kapparis is a quiet coastal village close to the towns of Protoras and Paralimni. It is peaceful and picturesque making it perfect for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday but with all local amenities nearby.
Paralimni is a market town with a historic square surrounded by traditional tavernas and restaurants. The twin-aisled vaulted church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panagia) is decorated with unusual 18th century porcelain plates.
The resort of Protoras is a lively resort with a water park which has crazy golf and amusements. The nearest beach, Fig Tree Bay, is so called as the beach is marked by a fig tree which, according to local legend was brought by invaders in the 17th century. There is a small island a few hundred meters from the beach to which many swimmers visit to explore. The fishing village and seaside resort of Ayia Napa (30 minutes drive away), surrounded by fertile plantations of vegetables and fruit, incredible rock formations and windmills is now the major tourist resort in the region.
The Ayia Napa Festival takes place every September and includes folk art exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances and displays of traditional Cypriot culture. At night Ayia Napa turns into one large dance floor. The bars in the centre of town open their doors and crowds spill out into the streets which are lined with restaurants and bars with an abundance of tourist and souvenir shops.
Water World Waterpark, the largest water park in Europe and located close to Ayia Napa, is themed on Ancient Greece. The park features a lazy river, an activity pool, serpentine slides, and the labyrinth with 50 interactive play areas.
