The bungalow Golondrina 17 is located on the first row to the beach, in the best group (the 4) of the 7 of a well-known 3 stars resort, facing the long beach (blue flag) of Matagorda, a few minutes from the heart of the tourist center of Puerto Del Carmen.
Here, less than 60 meters away the 18 km of beach that crawl between Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife, guests will enjoy above all the rest and relaxation, while being able to easily walk to all amenities such as shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc.
Golondrina 17 is a corner bungalow with a beautiful fully furnished sun terrace with a thatched roof and access ramp for wheelchairs in south-west exposure; part of the horizontal one floor architecture of small block of 4-5 semi-detached bungalows. From the terrace, guests do not watch here on the wall next to the resort, but on a very large palm garden that was created as a windbreak: a unique touch that only Matagorda has. Between the palms, sparkles, especially in the afternoon, the Atlantic Ocean, and the sunsets on Lanzarote are sometimes dramatics.
With such a position, you can get, depending on the season, sunshine from 9.00 or 10.00 AM 'til sunset!
This bungalow has a peculiar privacy: being the last of its row, nobody will pass in front of you; an access gate will inhibit the entrance to the garden to strangers; and you have this very big private garden with plants and flowers, and basil too!
The bungalow has a living-dining area with one comfortable big sofa-bed in a sort of alcove for more privacy, and a spacious American kitchen with a breakfast bar with soft stools. It has a bathroom with an enormous walk-in shower and you will find another hot and cold shower into the so-called Solana (an inner courtyard for hanging laundry, storable beach stuff and cooling the apartment). There is a separate bedroom with two big single beds (with new thick mattresses and pillows in Memory and Aloe Vera) that can be easily attached in a king-size double-bed and a big wardrobe with a free of charge safe-deposit, plenty of soft blankets and iron and iron table. The terrace is wattled and fully furnished and you have a big wooden deck in the garden.
The lounge is comfortable, modern and attractively decorated in bright colors and lovely details. At no further payment is at your disposal a TV with all international satellite and TDT programs, a radio and a DVD/CD player; there is as well a free of charge wireless internet and even a phone (only to receive incoming calls).
In the kitchen all services are collected in a built-in with cooker hood, washing machine, double glass fire-stove, fridge (with a real frozen food cell), microwave and a little double-grill oven which allow self-sufficiency at home; you will also find an electric big BBQ. Cooking and eating utensils, small appliances, cups and cutlery abound.
For the sometimes slightly cooler nights in the winter of Lanzarote (do not forget that we are in Africa), a heat pump aircon (free of charge) and some plaids are at hand; while the summer heat is moderated significantly by the typical Canarian roof, the open "Solana" and two fans (one portable and a roof one in the bedroom). A fantastic new air-conditioning system (cold and warm) will also help, both in summer and winter.
Close to the airport (but not noisy!), Matagorda is definitely the safest area, hot, green and peaceful on the island, in addition to the more central! It is served, in front of the Resort, by two long, sandy and free beaches. The road that separates the resort from the beach is closed to the traffic, (except for the police: a discreet but constant control) so you can say you are right on the beach! The road is for pedestrians (that allows a walk in the shade of palm trees) and for bicycles. Near the complex (150 meters) there is a large and well equipped shopping center with supermarket, banks, bars and restaurants of all kinds, and cheap car and bike rental. Just outside the complex, there is also a playing garden for children and, along the promenade, free exercise machines for adult's spots! In the four stars Hotel (just cross the side street), a well known SPA is at your disposal; and also its Night Shows, if you like some attractions.
Golondrina 17 is located on the front row to the beach of the group 4 (that of the reception) of the touristic complex. There are about 60 meters from the Paseo Maritimo; and then, the beach is just there! For more privacy, the bungalow is surrounded by its private garden.
Matagorda is the western part of Puerto Del Carmen and is highly appreciated by our guests as an alternative to the pulsating life in the center or along the Avenida. Nevertheless, here it is anything but boring if you would like to leave his resting area. A taxi will take a few minutes (or 5, 10, 20, 30 minutes walking, depending on where you want to go) to where, boom, according to taste, the bass or just the Timple sounds fine.
But what really makes this place so beautiful, is that the mile-wide beach and the Paseo Maritimo are only for pedestrians and bicycles (no cars!). Matagorda also offers a bus service to Puerto Del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Arrecife.
