From the owner

Casa Manglar is a beautiful tropical home with 4 bedrooms each with A/C. It offers both a master and junior suite each with cable TV, walk in closets and private bathrooms. These suites are gems in Puerto Jimenez. Casa Manglar is the old family home of the owners of the resort "La Chosa del Manglar". Guests have access to 2 swimming pools on the property. The home is located on the same property as the resort but they are completely invisible from each other. The house is extraordinary in it's sense of oneness with the surrounding environment. The house so smoothly blends into the natural surroundings that is sometimes difficult to define if one is inside or outside the house. It's a one of a kind. If you require extra beds we have a 8 person suite beside the home which can be rented separately for $120 per night.

At Casa Manglar you are GUARANTEED to see WILDLIFE. How certain are we? Well, have you ever sat in your garden and seen Scarlet Macaws, Monkey's or a Kinkajou's? We have! Our guests have told us they saw more wildlife at here than at any other location during their Costa Rica vacation.

Come and stay with us, whether for a few days or a couple of weeks. We are only a 5 minute walk to downtown Puerto Jimenez and only 350 meters from one of the nicest beaches here. Gentle waves will lull you on the beautiful chocolate sand beaches, cavorting Scarlet Macaws (Lapas) will fly and play throughout the gardens. This is truly a birders paradise. You don't even have to leave the house to see these impressive Macaws and the many other varieties of exotic birds that visit here.

Hiking, kayaking, birding, horseback riding, surfing, canopying, snorkeling & camping are all easily practiced from "Casa Manglar". Do what you wish, when you wish, walk the beaches or hang-out in the property, it's up to you. Come spend some time with us. Make "Casa Manglar" your home on the OSA. There is extraordinary animal activity on the property. There really isn't anything we can say with words that can do it justice. so we simply suggest that you visit the Photo Gallery and see for yourselves what "La Chosa y Casa de Manglar" has to offer. Why leave monkeys to look for monkeys? They're right here. Do it from the pools. With over four acres of gardens, lush landscaping and natural mangroves to explore you might just want to stay right here for awhile. The magnificent Scarlet Macaws (Lapas) can be seen daily, literally dropping out of the sky for you to get a very up close peek. You will never forget these spectacular creatures, which lodge all over the Osa Peninsula. There are tropical, brightly colored flowers, fruits and plants filling the grounds some of which may eventually end up in your tummy. Butterflies, birds, lizards, flowers, all abound, it's like being in a tropical fairy tale!

Why can't I call Andrew (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Andrew (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Andrew (the owner) a message.

If Andrew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
