From the owner

Beautiful summer house in a spectacular location overlooking the South China Sea. The house sits on a very large private property with 1.5 km of private coastline (of which 600 meters are white sandy beaches). The mountains in the background - covered with rain forest - form a spectacular backdrop.

We like to eat fresh and healthy foods, so we have a large organic garden with vegetables, herbs and spices. We also keep French chickens (free range) for eggs and meat. Freshly caught fish can be had daily from a nearby fisherman's village. We hope our cats and dogs will make you feel at home the moment you arrive. During the daytime you will most likely be enjoying the surroundings and the beach. At night you will fall asleep, soothed by the sounds of the waves and the rain forest. The house comes with a caretaker and technical staff. If you wish, the hosts can also cook for you. My wife Theresa is very talented and highly passionate about cooking. Please ask us about our meal plan before your stay.

All rooms are en suite and have a view of the ocean (from your bed). We have built several private hideaways around the house, where you can enjoy the view and the sea breeze with a book, a cocktail or a cup of tea. Or just have a lazy afternoon nap in a hammock.

Other amenities of the house include a petanque court, a bar, a yoga platform/view deck, fast Wi-Fi, beach volleyball and badminton courts and an outdoor kitchen. Planned amenities for the near future are a Zen Garden, a wood fired brick oven and a zip line that will take you from your balcony straight to the beach.

We are leading a comfortable yet low impact life style. We produce our own veggies and meat, make our own virgin coconut oil, natural bug repellents, we roast our own coffee and even make our own artisan chocolate from Palawan cocoa pods. We cook using only the freshest ingredients.We avoid chemical additives and processed foods. If you wish to learn or participate in our organic farming, you are very much welcome. We have some live stock to tend to as well (cows, goats, water buffaloes, chickens).

To help keep our carbon footprint low, we ask all our visitors to plant one tree each. Either a long living fruit tree or a tropical hardwood tree. We provide the seedlings and make sure the tree will prosper.

    Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to submit your review. Thanks also for your very kind words about Theresa and me. When we see how you are enjoying your stay, it inspires us and it makes us feel good. Thanks also for your huge compliment about Theresa's cooking. Truth be told, after all those years that we've been together, she still manages to impress even me. And I'm a regular customer :-) As far as our beach is concerned, it is in the first stage of development. So far, we have cleaned up and smoked out the surrounding forest. The beach itself is left pristine (although we rake it and remove seaweeds twice daily). Our initial idea was to keep the natural setting of the beach intact as much as possible (we are big fans of hammocks though, suspended in the shade). But we may change our plans and put some traditional wooden lounge chairs on the beach. We are also planning a grill and a bar. In a later stage we may even build some bungalows, slightly elevated and overlooking the bay but with immediate access to the beach. Lots of idea's are brewing and your input is very useful. We hope to welcome you back for a company team-building one day, so you can see for yourself how it turned out.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
