Refere-se como fundamental a centralidade desta propriedade em relação à Ilha de S. Miguel permitindo com deslocações curtas visitar todo o território.

Esta casa, situada a meia encosta do Pico do Cavaco, a 200 m de altitude, integra-se na remodelação duma 'Casa de Família' com mais de 100 anos que ocorreu de 2000 a 2002. Está integrada numa quinta que hoje se encontra florestada. Envolve-a uma propriedade de 3 Ha onde a calma e o silêncio são totais e se desfruta de uma das mais belas vistas sobre a costa Norte da Ilha de S.Miguel. Com o mar e o seu horizonte como presenças constantes e próximas, usufrui-se de uma visão panorâmica sobre a Vila de Rabo de Peixe e a cidade da Ribeira Grande, delimitadas por baías e promontórios envolvidas por pastagens verdejantes e quintas. Avistam-se ainda as encostas do Pico da Barrosa onde se situa a maravilhosa e misteriosa Lagoa do Fogo. Aqui, o visitante poderá sentir-se em comunhão com a Natureza, partilhando os seus ritmos, sons, cores, cheiros. São centenas os pássaros que têm aqui o seu habitat. No Verão e sobretudo na Primavera brindam-nos com verdadeiras sinfonias. No tanque do jardim ( devidamente protegido para as crianças), nadam pequenos peixes e rãs pelo meio de plantas aquáticas. As crianças são bem-vindas e temos um recanto especial para elas. Existe um jardim com relvado onde se pode jogar com bolas, balouços e casinha de brinquedos. Existe ainda um alpendre equipado com mobiliário de exterior e "barbecue" ( este espaço é a partilhar com os proprietários).

Porque a casa fica isolada, é fortemente aconselhável ter uma viatura.

A localização desta casa pode-se considerar privilegiada, pois encontra-se na zona central da ilha donde, em menos de 1 hora se alcançam praias, montanhas, vulcões adormecidos, ribeiras e lagoas de águas límpidas e atractivas. A cerca de 20 minutos de carro ficam as únicas plantações de chá da Europa.

A 300m fica a Quinta dos Sabores, propriedade de um filho nosso, que produz legumes, ervas aromáticas e frutos, que vos poderá fornecer cestas de produtos frescos e naturais, ou acompanhar numa visita à sua exploração agrícola onde também existe um restaurante que proporciona os mais genuínos sabores, num conceito de degustação ‘da quinta para o prato’, tudo envolvido num ambiente despretensioso mas requintado e caloroso.

Estão ainda perto do Pico do Cavaco restaurantes de peixe e mariscos do Atlântico Norte, bem como de carne oriunda do gado bovino que povoa as inúmeras pastagens de verdes matizados e tranquilizadores, que enquadram a natureza vulcânica de S.Miguel.

Encontra-se a 10/15 minutos das 3 cidades da ilha - Ponta Delgada, Ribeira Grande e Lagoa - onde o património edificado desde o Sec. XVII nos convida a uma visita calma e gratificante.

Existem vários museus e centros de interpretação e estudo da natureza.

Para uma estadia dinâmica e activa sugerimos caminhadas pelos muito atractivos Trilhos Pedestres que a Região oferece, banhos e mergulho subaquático, passeios de barco para observação de golfinhos, cachalotes e baleias, observação de aves - é uma zona importante de aves migratórias - , passeios de bicicleta e a cavalo, pesca nas suas várias modalidades e caça menor, passeios temáticos para a descoberta da vulcanologia e geologia da ilha.
