Experience picturesque living in a Mountain View Chalet, inspired by French architecture, having breath taking views of snow capped Himalayan peaks of Trisul, Nandadevi and Panchchuli. Located over a landscaped green hill in a village called Majkhali, a peaceful personal retreat and a splendid escape near Ranikhet, 9 hours drive from Delhi, 2.5 hours drive from Nainital / Bhimtal. A 50 Km drive further takes you to hill stations like Kausani, Binsar, Almora, and Kasardevi. The Chalet overlooks a gorgeous forest covered valley, and tall Himalayan peaks. The entry to the Chalet is through a dazzling entry foyer, with a sun soaking bench. The main entry door opens into a resplendent double height Living room, with huge french windows and bay windows, to let that morning sunlight brighten up the whole Chalet. The Chalet has 2 marvelous rooms, the first bedroom - located on the entry side of the Living room overlooking the entry foyer and the lawns, and the master bedroom - located on the other side of the Living room, overlooking the lawns and the hills. The Master bedroom has an exquisitely decorated Queen Size Bed, a mini library, and a fun lounger next to a huge bay window, giving breath taking views of the hills from any corner. The Master bedroom has a cute attached bathroom with all modern fixtures. The First bedroom is a double height room, with wooden roof, an aesthetically decorated double bed, and french windows on both sides of the room. We have also given a dressing table in the First bedroom, for the ladies who wish to carry their accessories. There is a common bathroom between the First Bedroom and the Living room. The Living room has a beautiful bay window sitting, and a comfortable lounge sitting for upto 8 guests. The Living room is fitted with a 32" LED TV for recreation, and has Wifi internet accessibility which is provided free of cost (500 MB / day). The Living room also has a fully functional fire place for those chilly winter months, to keep the entire Chalet very cozy. Adjacent to the fire place, is a small yet beautiful rosewood writing table, if you wish to make some notes, or write some poetry sitting by the fire. Across the fireplace is cute open kitchen with all modern amenities and equipment including a microwave, refrigerator, RO water purifier, Toaster, and Electric Kettle, and the required cutlery, crockery and cookware to cook a sumptuous meal. A wooden stairway next to the kitchen leads to the Attic on the upper level. The Attic is a beautiful wooden platform overlooking the Living room below, and the bay windows in front. The attic is decorated with Sun Loungers, which can be taken down to the lawns if required, to soak in some hot sun in the cold weather. Next to the Attic is an additional room, which serves as a recreation room, or an extra room for a larger group, and houses another fire place, a futon, and a small diwan single bed. The recreation room has a balcony overlooking the lawns, and offers views of the valley and the peaks from a floor above. The Chalet has power back up through UPS system, which will power the lights and fans, however heavy electronics like kitchen equipment, geysers / water heaters, room heaters, electric iron, and hair dryers cannot be used on power back up in case of a power outage. We provide fresh linen and towels at the time of every check in. Linen & towel change is provided every fourth day, in case the stay is longer than a week. We provide complementary bathroom toiletries like shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, etc and a kitchen welcome basket with basic necessities like tea bags, coffee, creamer, sugar, cooking oil (mini container), salt & pepper, etc. Housekeeping is provided every alternate day for cleaning the Chalet between 10 AM to 12 PM. Utensil cleaning service is provided daily between 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and between 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Dining options are available at Woodsvilla residency (50 Mts away), Woodsvilla Resort (150 Mts away), The Cafe (1.5 Km away), and ITC Windsor Lodge (4 Km away). Home delivery of Pizza's / Indo-Chinese can also be ordered.

Our guests are most welcome to enjoy all areas and facilities of the property. The fire place and / or barbecue can be only used under supervision of our care taker, and an extra cost of Rs. 1,000 is chargeable for each time use of the fire place / barbecue.

Watching the sun rise over the mighty snow covered peaks, or an afternoon beer sitting under the bright sun, lounging on our sun beds, makes our Chalet a blissful experience. The neighborhood is a beautiful, non commercialized, mountain village, with few residential cottages, and resorts. If you are lucky, you may hear the leopard growl, sometimes at night, from the forest below. The place is a heaven for Artists, Photographers, Bird watchers, and Star gazers.

Our property is managed by Hostie - an operations management company for boutique travel homes in India. Our Kumaon zone supervisor (Prem) & our care taker (Ganga), ensure our guest's have a comfortable and memorable stay. Ganga stays at the village of Majkhali, and comes every day between 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. to take care of our guests. She can also assist our guests (with prior intimation) for helping them with chopping / basic cooking if you so require (within her working hours). A small charge of Rs. 500 per day is payable to her for seeking her help for chopping / basic cooking. However, Ganga is not a trained cook, and should not be utilized for complex / elaborate cooking.

Had the best stay at this property, away from city life. The property is in isolation, no restriction on noise. It has the best view in Ranikhet, with really helpful and chill staff.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Akshay (the owner) a message.

If Akshay (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
