Description

For a real getting back to basics holiday experience, throw out the fancy clothes, pack the essentials and head to a bunkhouse. With all the basic facilities that you need, a bunkhouse offers a hostel experience stripped back, and is a true escape from the stresses, strains and business of 21st century (urban) life.

Whether you fancy a solitary break, getting back to nature; or you want to hire out a whole bunkhouse for yourself and friends or family, this is a great way to explore the countryside without having to pack a tent or worry about keeping out the wind and rain.

The Bunk house is situated in remote and beautiful area and offers access to parts of the countryside with many activities plus a place to lay your head, that you might not otherwise be able to get to - at a very reasonable price. Take a look at some of the details below.

We now have a full sized hot tub for hire at £250 per weekend plus £100 damage deposit. Please ask for details

This area is also suitable for Funeral Lunches.

There is some WiFi but is it very slow and unreliable due to the location.

There is the Kitchen, The Bar (Now TV Room) with tables chairs and sofas. There is also a log fire which we will leave some wood and coal. Extra coal is available at £10 per bag and Wood at £5 per bag.

If you feel the cold dress up warm! This is the countryside.

This is also suitable for groups of workers and contractors. Builders, Solar, Wind, Energy, Farming etc.Kitchen, washing machine, drying room, dirty work clothes area, tv room etc all available following discussions. If you would like to use the kitchen a £50 deposit is required and returnable as long as there are no breakages and you have done your washing up and disposed of your rubbish in the wheely bins at the end of the drive.

The Kitchen is basic with a cobbled floor but has everything you would need to feed your group.

We can supply bedding for £6 per head. If you do not want ours then you will need to supply an undersheets and/or sleeping bags.

Nearby Shooting, Racing, Indoor Sky Diving, Indoor Surfing, Fishing, Riding, Sailing, Cycling. Just ask for details and we can organise group activities.I dont want to be boring but the small print!

For clarity this is for accommodation only this is not a party venue. Unfortunately no loud music is allowed and all outside areas must be "silent" by 11 pm. No noise must be audible from inside the barn after this time.Please respect our other visitors and guests at all times.

We have herbs and apples available to pick; Mint, rosemary, thyme, oregano and fresh rocket! Help yourself.

“A bit grubby but great hosts”

Location was great and facilities were ok. I needed to re wash everything in the kitchen before using as so dirty and greasy (most likely from previous guests). I know it's a barn but didn't expect so many flys and thick cobwebs, and also bird pooh over the sofas.Beds are seriously needing updating some so many springs out. However , the hosts were excellent and welcoming, the garden was huge with lots of tables, the chandeliers in the bedroom are a great touch. For a weekend away with a group it was good and would recommend for that purpose.

Response from the owner Thanks for your feedback Hattie. Obviously never good to hear any negative feedback. We pay someone to come and completely clean the Barn between each guests so if there were any issues we would have liked to be told at the time so we could remedy. Unfortunately flies and cobwebs are a symptom of the countryside and Swallows will come into the Barn as soon as the doors are open as it used to be their home. We will check the beds and replace as required but had not had any other complaints. We hope you will come back again. Julia & Graham

“Perfect for a fun country weekend an easy journey from London”

I spent my 30th birthday at the barn with 19 friends and we had the best weekend. I was worried we wouldn't be able to sleep sharing a big room but the bedroom blinds make it nice and dark and the doors to the bathrooms are nice and quiet. The garden is beautiful and the large kitchen makes catering en mass really easy. There are fridges in the bar which is also really useful!! This place has all you need for a fun weekend away from London and at great value.
