As featured in Channel 4s Series 3 of "A New Life in the Sun" 2018, La Grande Maison is a charming 17th century farmhouse (gite) renovated to high standards.

As well as 6 large bedrooms, the gite has a large kitchen, separate dining room and huge lounge (9 m by 7 m). We do not use sofa beds so each client has a bed either shared or to oneself. We also have two travel cots - please order at time of booking.

The shared swimming pool is 10 m by 5 m and there is large gardens with small fishing lake to explore. Outdoor facilities include BBQ's, boules pitch, badminton, table tennis, football, giant chess & golf practice net.

Located on the edge of a peaceful rural village, but conveniently situated 4 kms from the 13th century Bastide town of Eymet, with its restaurants, shops & local markets. ( Markets can be found on every day of the week within a short distance)

Fantastic location for family or group holidays. This area is great for cycling, walking & bird watching.

We accept dogs but please ask before booking if this service is available for the weeks you require. An additional fee may be required.

In the refurbished kitchen, you will find all the modern amenities to make your stay enjoyable. these include gas fired range cooker, American side by side fridge/freezer with automatic ice maker, microwave, separate undercounter fridge and dishwasher.
There is a separate laundry room with 2 washing machines.
Each bedroom has wardrobes and chest of drawers which will give plenty of storage space for your clothing, even if all you are likely to need is a pair of shorts, tee shirt and swimming cossy!
The lounge is spacious (9 x 7m) with satelitte TV, DVD, Video and stereo CD sytem. The mezzanine library also has board games, a dart board and for those of you with a musical flair a pedal operated harmonium!

The large mature gardens and fields (2.5 Hectares) give loads of room to wander about and enjoy the outdoor living experience that the Dordogne is famous for.
Why not try a game of boules on our court whilst sipping a glass of the local wine, or try badminton, table tennis, football, golf driving practice or even fish for carp in our small lake.
Whilst the gardens are shared with other guests, you have your own private courtyard for outdoor cooking and dining.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Julia (the owner) a message.

If Julia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
