The region is generally considered to be the gastronomic centre of France. The area is renowned for its duck, foie gras, chestnuts and local farm produce and there are many excellent family run restaurants. Wine trails spread out in all directions offering the opportunity to visit Chateaux and buy direct. St Emilion and Monbazillac are a short drive away and worthy of a visit.
