Breathtaking scenery, enchanting villages, art and history can all be found within easy reach, with panoramic views of the Douro river an area of spectacular and rugged beauty and where you will find a wealth of interesting botanic and wildlife species, as well as remote villages where life has changed little in generations.
Coupled with beauty and tradition, there are also many new local and modern activities on offer such as water sports on the Douro River, golf in Amarante and a few miles away Caldas de Aregos, with a SPA of sulphur waters (excellent for rheumatisms and other diseases). There is also a marina, river beach, restaurants,museum and shops.
Whilst the property enjoys a rural setting, amenities are nevertheless close to hand. The local shop and restaurants in the town of Resende is about 1 km from the house.
