Gwarcae is a warm and inviting cottage set in the picturesque Elan Valley, the cottage offers fantastic views in a secluded setting allowing guests to relax and unwind. Gwarcae overlooks a beautiful valley with hills that rise behind the cottage perfect for walking, exploring and cycling.
Gwarcae has been extensively renovated over the last few years and provides guests with excellent modern facilities, whilst remaining true to cosy character you would expect from an old Welsh cottage. Downstairs the main room has been opened out to provide a large living space for eating, reading or simply watching logs burn in the open fireplace. Additionally downstairs there is a wood burning stove in the main room and solid fuel Rayburn 'range style' cooker in the kitchen.
Gwarcae is situated just 1 mile west of Rhayader a charming market town with shops, a leisure centre, restaurants and several traditional pubs. The Elan Valley is well known for its beautiful mountain scenery and picturesque reservoirs, it is a destination for walkers, mountain bikers and even offers pony trekking and fishing. Children will enjoy the opportunity to spot the famous red kites, buzzards and other unusual creatures - including the sheep that roam freely on the hillside surrounding the cottage!
In order to maintain the cottage's appeal to the widest possible audience we regret that pets are not invited to stay in the cottage.
