Walkerbouts Inn - Rhodes is a spacious haven with comfortable accommodation in 6 bedrooms each with en-suite facilities. We offer fine country cuisine and hospitality in the best traditions of the Platteland. The relaxed and hospitable atmosphere makes it a veritable home-from-home.

Walkerbouts is located in the historic village of Rhodes which is situated at the southernmost tip of the Drakensberg mountain range, 16km due south of the border with the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. The village is more than 1800m above sea level, situated on the banks of the Bell River.

Rhodes is surrounded by hundreds of kilometers of high altitude mountain streams and rivers. Fly fishing can be arranged at Walkerbouts for wild trout and smallmouth yellowfish on more than 200km of Wild Trout Association waters within an hours drive of Rhodes

The highest nearby peak, Ben McDhui, soars to 3001m above sea level. Barkly East is 60km away on a narrow and winding gravel road that must be driven with care. Rhodes, with its turn of the last century architecture and shady, tree-lined streets has retained its charm and, in July 1997, it was proclaimed a National Monument.

Attractions in the area include spectacular alpine flowers in summer, mountain-biking, birding, walks, rock art visits by prior arrangement, 4x4 trails or simply chilling.

      How do damage deposits work?

      In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

      Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

      How do I edit my booking?

      You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Walkerbouts (the owner) a message.

      If Walkerbouts (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
