Stunning hillside location with panoramic views over Bequia's capital Port Elizabeth, The Spice House is a newly built 3 bedroom villa set in a private estate of exclusive homes.

Large open-plan living area with glazed mahogany doors that slide completely open onto a full width covered deck with steps leading down to a generous sun terrace & curved infinty pool.

The master bedroom has a super-King size four poster bed with ceiling fan above & mirrored wardrobes to the rear. It has dual aspect with full height double doors opening onto a private covered terrace with views across the bay.

There is a generous sized modern en-suite shower room to one side with his & hers basins.

Bedroom two has two 3' X 6''6" beds that can be placed together to provide a super-king size bed with ceiling fan. This room also has dual aspect with sea views & full height double doors to the front & side with access directly onto the covered deck.

There is a separate modern shower room opposite with walk in shower, basin & WC.

Bedroom 3 has a four poster double bed with ceiling fan above. There are two sets of full height double doors with front & side aspect.

It has a modern en suite shower room with walk in shower, basin & WC.

All bedrooms have air conditioning.

The large open-plan living area is the heart of the house with a soaring ceiling above luxurious and comfortable Italian leather seating with a dining area to the side.

The kitchen sits to the rear of the house & has a large 6 burner range cooker, an American style fridge freezer & a long mahogany island/breakfast bar.

It is fully stocked with all cooking utensils, crockery & cutlery & we also leave many basics available such as oils, condiments & spices.

(Please note that the kettle is ELECTRIC. Do not place it on the gas hob)

The villa sits within it's own tropical gardens which contain many mature trees including cinnamon, lime & mango.

It is a five minute drive to Port Elizabeth or 20 minutes on foot, although it should be noted that it is a steep walk.

The Spice House looks out over Plantation Hotel's small sandy bay and the glorious Princess Margaret's beach and Lower Bay beach are both only moments away.

This villa is perfect for relaxing days by the pool, has easy access to all of the town's bars and restaurants and, at the end of the day, for peaceful cocktails on the veranda watching the sun set on the horizon before the fireflies make an appearance over the cinnamon trees

Our house-keeper will greet you on arrival and show you the house and facilities. She will visit twice a week to thoroughly clean the villa and to change the bed linens if required and, although the villa is self-catering, she is available on request to prepare simple evening meals. Please discuss meal preferences directly with her on arrival and advise of any food allergies/intolerances.

Well-behaved children over the age of 8 are welcome at this property although it it very important to note that the pool area does not have railings so we do not consider it suitable for very young or unsupervised children.

There is a strict no smoking policy in this property due to the very real danger posed by the dry surroundings.

Bequia has no natural water and every drop is collected from rainfall so we kindly ask that all guests are careful with their water consumption.

Dear guest, What happened to you and your party was undoubtedly a ghastly experience and, as expressed in our numerous exchanges, I am so sorry that you had such a terrible thing happen on your holiday. As you are aware, the same thing happened to a wedding party guest at a well known hotel the following weekend but, in that instance the intruder was frightened off and nothing more has been reported. As I told you, this is something that I have not heard of happening in my 27 years of visiting and owning property on Bequia and I hope and pray that it is not repeated. We spoke often during this awful time for you and I immediately arranged a night watchman for the remainder of your stay, which you declined. -It is worth mentioning that despite saying you wished to leave immediately, you all stayed for the remainder of your booked trip, for which I refunded the whole booking fee The property was thoroughly checked out and all locks were found to be sound. I was not told about the tampered with doors and the police didn’t put that in the report I was given. Since your stay we have had a good number of very happy guests and I have stayed alone there with nothing untoward happening. We have security cameras around the property now but are hopeful they will not be called upon in such dreadful and unprecedented circumstances as you encountered. I still visit the police to check up on any sign of your missing items but they have not had any luck with that. I will continue to do so and in the meantime can only repeat my sincere regret that something like this happened to you

Why can't I call Fernanda (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Fernanda (the owner) a message.

If Fernanda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
