Set 5 mins walk from the pristine waters of Lake Tarawera, just 20 mins from Rotorua, The Cheeky Tui is a fully self contained house in a private garden setting. We even provide a couple of Kayaks and bikes to enable you to fully enjoy the beautiful lake and surroundings.

The accommodation features 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 people.

There are 3 bedrooms; one with a king bed, a twin room & one with two sets of bunks - great for the kids!

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave oven etc. The dining room opens onto a cobblestoned courtyard with an outdoor eating area with a bbq. There is also a kent fire & heat pump for winter so is lovely & warm.

If you have children a portacot and high chair are available, along with plenty of board games etc to keep them entertained. The property has a large fenced area for safety for children (& dogs).

Located next to a reserve, with a playground & close to boat ramp and a good swimming beach, this is the perfect location for your next family holiday. Well behaved & house-trained dogs are welcome and there is even room for a boat!

The 4 bedroom, Fidgety Fantail holiday cottage,(also owned by us) is located at the bottom of the driveway, making it perfect for 2 families or friends to rent one each. Please contact us if you are interested in this option.

Why can't I call Steve (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Steve (the owner) a message.

If Steve (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
