From the owner

Situated on the East Coast of Northland, New Zealand, this place has stunning open views of the coast. Nestled up amongst native bush, we offer superb vistas overlooking Little Taupiri Bay and beyond.

An ideal place to recharge the batteries, take long walks along the beaches, go kayaking, fishing, cycling or simply enjoy the free fast wifi. The quiet and relatively remote location will appeal to people who want to get away from their busy lifestyles and enjoy the peace this place offers.

This is the ideal space to relax and unwind. The house is set up on a hill overlooking the beautiful East Coast of Northland. The house is 250sqm with 3 double bedrooms with 1 x King bed (top of the range Sealy Posturepedic) and 2 x Queen beds. The upstairs consists of a master bedroom with an ensuite, open plan kitchen/living room and garage. The downstairs consists of 2 x bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge and bathroom with bath and shower. The laundry is in the garage. There is also a queen sized slat bed sofa bed available upstairs. Both levels have large decks to enjoy the views and sun.

Double glazed windows throughout for warmth and quiet.Guests have access to a gas BBQ, kayaks, gym equipment including a spin cycle, free weights/bench and also 2 new mountain bikes. There is also an outside shower. There are also 'Coast' bean bags (outdoor furniture) that can be used as well as a 6 seater outdoor table and chair set. Sky TV (cable TV) is provided with movie and sports package are added. There is also Apple TV.

Someone will be there to let you in and make sure everything is okay for you. Someone will also help lock up the place upon your departure.

Neighbours are few and far between. The area is extremely quiet and traffic volume is very low. There are a number of locations nearby to launch a boat. There are some great fishing spots on and off the water. Elliots Bay (5-10 walk) hosts surfing competitions and is a popular surf beach for locals. Taupiri Bay (5 min walk) is one of the safest swim beaches in the North. Little Taupiri Bay (across the road) is your own private little bay (although the locals sometimes enjoy it as well). We regularly see dolphins, Humpback Whales and Orca's from the deck of our house!

You will need a car. The nearest shopping centre is Russell which is 25kms away. There are some beautiful walks in the area including Cape Brett and along Elliots Bay (and the joining bays).

The wireless internet is relatively quick and very reliable. It is fast enough to easily stream videos, download/upload large files, send/receive emails, (website hidden) etc.

The house is fully alarmed and there is 'off site' monitoring via both internal and external cameras. Cellphone reception depends on your provider (some have better reception than others) but there is a landline provided with free local calls.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Bill (the owner) a message.

If Bill (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
