Our beautiful cottage, located in Ambleside,is in The Lake District National Park, now an UNESCO World Heritage site.You will be delighted with this cottage, located in quiet cul-de-sac just minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside.

Major refurbishments have been carried out last month, modernising the charming entire cottage plus adding on a loft conversion with a luxurious ensuite.The cottage backs onto Stockghyll Fall, is a haven for all the family with walks straight from the front door.There is easy access to the lake, woods and fells.

There are 4 tastefully decorated double bedrooms & 3 bathrooms with power showers along with the fully equipped kitchen and separate dining room provides all home comforts! We can comfortably sleep 8 adults, with the option of a travel cot for infants. There are 3 lovely patio areas with garden furniture and privacy for sunbathing. The private driveway parks upto 4 small cars/ 3 large cars.

Local information, amenities and emergency details are available..Basic essentials are provided by our housekeeper who is also the point of contact during your stay. Regarding "wheelchair accessibility " as agreed by the VISIT ENGLAND INSPECTOR ---there is only one step in the front entrance and one step in the kitchen leading to the dining room. However, please note we are not able to provide a ramp.

We are not available to meet you as we live far away. The cottage is accessed via a key placed in a key safe.The gate is to be kept locked whenever you leave the property. The key code will be provided nearer the time. More information is provided nearer the time of your booking.However I am easily reached via phone/email and our friendly housekeeper is your point of contact should you have any immediate queries and help. For all local information, you are best advised to visit THE HUB, the local information centre. It is at the bottom of Peggy Hill less than 5 minute walk from the cottage.

House rules

Please treat the cottage as your own house. Our housekeeper requests on leaving that all used beds should be stripped. All bins should be placed in the red bin which needs to deposited in the outside bin when you leave. Incidentally the red bins are huge and usually suffice for a 3-4 days stay. The thermostat should also be returned to 15 degrees on leaving. We also request all breakages and damages are reported to our housekeeper.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send RANI (the owner) a message.

If RANI (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
