From the owner

Manor house with private pool and tennis court set amongst the vines next to the picturesque market Bastide town of Sainte-Foy-La Grande, part way between St Emilion and Bergerac. Bergerac airport is a 30 minute drive (Bordeaux airport just over an hour). It is therefore perfectly positioned for wine tours or kayaking along the Dordogne.

The house lies on the southern range of hills which run along the Dordogne river valley and enjoys commanding views. The house sits in mature grounds of approximately 6 acres which ensures privacy and tranquility.

All 5 guest bedrooms are large (so no 'duff' room for the late arriver!) and one of them is a bunk room with 5 beds (plus 2 trundles) which allows flexible sleeping arrangements. All beds are made up with Egyptian cotton sheets and towels. Three of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. It is therefore perfectly suited to family holidays with friends - 4 families can stay without feeling you are on top of each other.

When the sun is shining there are a variety of garden games, including table tennis, croquet, boule and tennis (racquets provided), and table football. For cozy winter evenings, there are four wood burning stoves and a range of board games.

The pool is fenced and a cot and high chair can be provided free of charge, on request.

There are various terraces for pre-dinner drinks and al fresco dining and a gas BBQ and BBQing equipment are provided.

There is Wifi throughout the house, including in all bedrooms.

We will leave you to yourselves during your stay, but we have a property manager who lives only a few miles away and so can be promptly available to answer any questions. Our property manager will check you in and out, and provide local recommendations. The property is very much yours to enjoy in complete privacy, however we will need to maintain the gardens and clean the pool. The gardener will be there one day a week (usually Friday), but he will be utterly discreet and keep out of your way as much as possible.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Charles (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
