Whitehead Light Station is the definition of a unique and wonderful vacation accommodation or retreat center. Perfect for retreats or educational getaways. On 11 acres of the 90 acre Whitehead Island, the recently restored Light Station housed the families who tended the lighthouse before it was automated in 1982. Whitehead Light Station is remote but comfortable with a private bath in each of 7 bedrooms, electricity, new modern fully-equipped kitchen (with a 6-burner, 2-oven, griddle-equipped Garland stove), and comfortable common areas, including 2 sitting rooms, a dining room, and a library. No TVs, internet, or telephones--just splendid isolation. Included in the cost is the service of a boat in which the captain can take groups on trips to explore neighboring islands and provide access to the attractions of the mainland (20 minutes by car from Rockland and 35 minutes from Camden). 1 mile off shore. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
