In the heart of a small city with character and a few metres from its castle, enjoy a snack during a stay with the charm and authenticity of a 16th century timber-framed house: the House Arouet * nestled in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages of the Deux-Sèvres, Arouet House opens its doors on a haven of peace, relaxation and well-being.

This historical House of the 16th century owes its name to the ancestors of Voltaire that inhabited it and still today, you will find all the charm of the time: timber-framed, arches and doors in carved stones, staircase screw, stone and medieval tiles, old parquet floors, mullioned windows...

Agnes and Didier will welcome you in a peaceful setting in the spirit of a family house in the elegant and refined atmosphere. Thanks to the new House 100 m² spa area, you are will be also invited to absolute relaxation and wellness moments with family or friends during a weekend or an extended getaway.

Pushing its doors, you can only be conquered by its friendly and carefully decorated interior and the splendour of the parts which embellish it:-its spacious lounge: the place dreamed for you relax and find yourself with friends or family and enjoy peaceful moments at the corner of the fireplace.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    How do I edit my booking?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Agnes (the owner) a message.

    If Agnes (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
