From the owner

Rowan cottage is a self catering cottage located within the village of Salen on the beautiful island of Mull. The village of Salen is the most central on the island, being 10 miles from the main ferry terminal at craignure and 10 miles to the main town of Tobermory, making it an ideal base to explore the island.This traditionally built cottage has been in the family for four generations and has been tastefully and lovingly upgraded to a high standard over the years, yet retains a small charming cottage feel. Rowan cottage is well equipped offering comfortable accommodation for up to four people in one double and one twin bedroom . Please note that access to the shower room, the door is lower that a standard door due to the stair to the bedrooms. Electricity is paid for by £1 coin meter.

Opposite the cottage and behind what was the original croft house is the family croft, part of which has been converted to form a garden area giving a spacious grass area where children can play safely, a picnic bench and stone barbecue. The rotary cloths dryer is also located here.

Access to the croft is by way of the steps to rear of the gravel parking area.

Please note that the central heating is run off the open fire and provides both hot water and heating to the radiators. You will need to supply your own firewood or coal which can be purchased in the local shop. There are convector heaters and an immerser should you not use the open fire.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Graham (the owner) a message.

If Graham (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
