Domaine Lavie is an elegant manoir near the spa town of Salies-de-Béarn. The Pyrénées and Spain are less than an hour's drive away, as are the golden sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast. In what was once the Manor House's farm buildings are now 4 holiday cottages, refurbished to the highest standards.

Each cottage is spacious, well equipped, comfortable and tastefully furnished with all the facilities you will require. Each cottage has its own private terrace and a stunning 14m x 8m shared swimming pool. There is also a large terrace to sunbathe on and many peaceful and shady spots to relax in. From the large, floodlit swimming pool, there are lovely views over the countryside and to the Pyrénées beyond. The properties are suitable for couples and families alike, they all enjoy plenty of privacy.

Price does not include Taxe de Séjour that we are required to collect on behalf of the local Tourist Office. For Terrace, Orchard and Park Cottages, rated 4*, the tariff is currently 1,50€ per person per night for each guest aged 18 and over. For Courtyard Cottage, rated 3*, the tariff is 0,90€ per person per night for each guest aged 18 and over (this cottage is equipped to the same high standard as the others however the bedrooms are slightly smaller than the criteria set for 4* classification). Tariffs may be subject to change.

NO smoking is allowed inside the cottage or within the pool area. Smoking is permitted outside.

Domaine Lavie has four delightful holiday cottages: Terrace Cottage (sleeps 2), Courtyard Cottage (sleeps 4), Orchard Cottage (sleeps 4) & Park Cottage (sleeps 6). Each has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard - in fact, you'll find everything you could possibly think of to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. Domaine Lavie dates back to the time of Gaston Febus in 1376. The house was first owned by Pierre Seigneur-de-Lavie, after whom the surrounding area was also named. In the 18th-century, the main house was enlarged and remodelled, and its appearance has changed very little since then.

Domaine Lavie is set in over seven acres of lawns, gardens, parkland and woodland. It is surrounded by the verdant countryside of the Béarn. The old vegetable gardens have been replaced by a stunning 14m x 8m swimming pool. Its curved shape blends perfectly with the gently undulating hills, and the views are truly wonderful as you look out across the lush valley towards the Pyrénées.

Around the pool is a spacious terrace with sun beds and parasols. It is an ideal spot for those wishing to relax, unwind or sunbathe. For the more energetic, the pool is large enough to enjoy a really good swim.

Over the years, many specimen trees and shrubs have been planted throughout the grounds which makes Domaine Lavie a haven for wildlife. Sit quietly and watch - you will soon see and hear all sorts of birds, from wrens to buzzards. And swallows regularly swoop to drink from the pool. Dozens of different butterflies are attracted by the numerous flowers and shrubs. Rabbits, and even deer, can be seen grazing or nibbling at tender shoots.

Throughout the gardens and grounds, you will find peaceful, shady spots to relax in. Settle down with a good book on one of the many garden benches, or just while away the time with a doze in one of the hammocks slung between two trees. What could be more perfect?

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
