Description

Vinha Solarenga is a fabulous family Portuguese village villa set in the quaint village of Guisado of the Caldas region of the wonderful Silver Coast.

Believed to be dating from the last century the villa comprises two well converted farm buildings making this an excellent holiday location for the larger family or two families sharing. The main house comprises four double bedrooms (two with twin beds and two with double beds); two bathrooms (one with shower the other with bath and shower); a very large open plan fully fitted kitchen and living area and finally a wonderfully appointed lounge / diner with log burning oven and far reaching deep set views of the undulating countryside. The adjacent annex offers a further double bedroom; shower room and a fantastic rustic social kitchen / living area featuring a large open fire and working bread oven. Extremely comfortable space for social living or quiet time seclusion.

The property is bounded on all sides with a large garden leading on to a three acre field. Within the garden is the heated pool together with sun terraces; barbecue area and pool house - ideal for alfresco dining. Two large contained balconies from both houses overlook the gardens and across to the hills and fruit fields beyond - ideal for private sun bathing.

Plenty of car parking and safe children's play areas.

The small village near by has a truly wonderful and locally famous rustic restaurant that you simply must book up and visit. This area is blessed with a myriad of fabulous towns / trails / beaches etc so you'll not be left looking for what to do! Here's just few options:-

1/ Caldas da Rainha is a great historical town with a brilliant daily market / brand new shopping centre / gorgeous central secluded park along with many daily opening supermarkets. There's an operating bull ring too.

2/ beaches - Foz do Arelho has a quiet lagoon for safe bathing whilst offering opening surfing and boarding to the Atlantic. Loads of easily accessible bars / cafes etc. You'll be well served with wind breaks etc as the wide open beaches offer little shade in the summer sun

San Martinho Do Porto is a great safe lagoon beach with a myriad of water sports / restaurants / bar whilst in the old town there are quaint cobbled alley ways. Nazare is a busy seaside resort with wonderful waves and miles of beaches. Plenty of quaint cobbled cafe filled streets with many restaurants. Take the vernacular railway up to view point. As with all beaches it is recommended you arrive early. Between San Martinho and Nazare is Salgado beach - here you'll find miles of golden beaches with big breaking waves....safe for bathing though take care with the sea strength

3/ Further a field is Peniche - here you'll find a myriad of beaches along with boat trips to the wonderful islands just off the head land.

4/ Beyond Nazare there continue many miles of golden coast line.

5/ Alcobacca is a famous historical town with an impressive cathedral and wonderful summer festival in near by Aljubarrota

6/ Nor park is a super, safe, clean and tidy water park approximately 4 km north of Nazare on the spectacular coast line...full and half day tickets available.

7 / Obidos is a fantastic walled town steeped in history - cobbled market lanes with restaurants / shops and churches

“Fabulous stay”

We have just had a wonderful family holiday in this very spacious modern villa. The location is stunning, although you do need a car to reach any amenities like shops/restaurants in the local town. There is a restaurant 10 mins walk from the villa which serves wonderful local food and is very reasonably priced, but no shops within walking distance. The gardens and pool area of the villa are very well kept, and al fresco dining in the pool house was a great experience. The electric gates meant that we felt very safe letting an 18 month old run around the grounds. The location is great for accessing lovely beaches and markets in local towns - I recommend a trip to Peniche, Obidos and San Marthino beach - and is only just over an hour's drive away from Lisbon. Be aware there are tolls on the A roads in Portugal and all of them differ in amounts, the car rental company we rented from billed our credit card direct which was probably the easiest way to pay. The manager of the villa Victor was very helpful and accommodating when we contacted him, and I would thoroughly recommend this villa for a wonderful stay in northern Portugal.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Kevin & elizabeth (the owner) a message.

If Kevin & elizabeth (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
