Just a fifteen minute walk to the Jardin, this great house in Atascadero has the charm of a country house, a spectacular view of Centro, plus extensive gardens and a great pool.

A unique, luxurious and comfortable vacation home filled with light, warmth, hospitality and privacy.

Bright, three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home with two fireplaces, a luxurious heated pool (private enough for skinny dipping), two terraces and an inviting garden where orange and pomegranate trees and a rainbow of blooms invite you in.

Fully furnished, down to the cable tv, high speed internet for your laptop, VCR, telephone and microwave, it looks out on the pool, the sweet sleepy town below of San Miguel and the mountains off in the distance.

Perched on a hillside in the exclusive residential area of El Atascadero, you'll find Casita del Sol. After you enter the unassuming gate and walk across the pretty entry garden (grass, flowers, fruit trees) to the antique door into the compact brick bungalow, you are suddenly surprised by the spacious living/dining room with it's cathedral ceiling and the bright, cheerful interior graced by equipale furniture and a wood-burning fireplace.

Through the picture windows and doors, you can enjoy forever views of 180 degrees. The terrace that runs the full length of the living/dining room overlooks the backyard garden and pool area. A table and chairs provide a great place for sundowner drinks as well as an al fresco breakfast or lunch.The hummingbirds buzz in to sip at their feeder. The newly renovated kitchen is nicely equipped with large and small appliances, and a pantry. There is also a half-bath for guests on this level.

You descend to the lower level via the unusual wood spiral staircase. The master bedroom, with king bed, fireplace and en suite bath enjoys a view of the pool. The second bedroom has a queen bed, comfortable sitting area and en suite bath. Both bedrooms have a bank of closets.

Across the pool patio with its relaxing recliners, is a small third bedroom with two twin beds. The bath that adjoins it also serves as a changing room for pool guests. The free-form pool is kept warm by a gas-fired furnace, and is sparkling clean, thanks to a poolman who comes several times a week.

The maid, Chila, and the gardener Trini, each come Monday, Wednesday and Friday to cater to your needs. There is also a professional manager on call, if you should need any repairs. There is off street parking, should you arrive via car

The home is furnished with many amenities: SIRIUS/XM satellite radio with 100 commercial-free stations, cable TV, VCR, wireless high speed internet connection (for your laptop), HP Printer/Scanner, automatic washer, chaise lounge chairs, massage table, electric mattress pad warmers as well as down comforters on all beds.

I'll try and sort out the TV control unit....it's a new system (Shaw - via a Canadian satellite)) and perhaps Chila, the housekeeper felt unfamiliar with it and reluctant to offer advice. Thanks for the generous review. Yes, the twin bedroom and its bath are not "en suite"... Their entrances are side by side, and inches away from each other. I regret that your senior guests found this to be inconvenient. As described, this bathroom also serves as a changing room for guests using the pool. It would be inappropriate to have visitors going through your bedroom. Sorry. Thank you again for your review and your stay. Joe

Why can't I call Joseph (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joseph (the owner) a message.

If Joseph (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
