Beach cottage is located in the small coastal village of Sandhead, with uninterrupted views over Luce Bay and the Galloway hills beyond. The lounge boasts stunning sea views and the conservatory overlooks the secluded garden and woodland at the rear of the property.
Beach Cottage has 7 miles of sand on your doorstep! Ideal for entertaining the children or walking the dog! If you have neither it's just great for a relaxing walk and plenty of fresh air - often the beach is deserted so you get it all to yourself.

Sandhead has a pub/restaurant, shop and tearoom all within an easy stroll from Beach Cottage.

Portpatrick is a short drive away and boasts many lively pubs and restaurants which serve good food all day.

The Rhins of Galloway is also renowned for its gardens - Logan Botanic, Ardwell, Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Dunskey - as the area is warmed by the Gulf Stream there are may exotic plants to be viewed.

The Mull of Galloway Lighthouse (the most southernly point in Scotland) is just 10 minutes drive from Sandhead, it is home to Gallie Craig Tearoom and RSPB reserve.

For avid walkers the Southern Upland Way starts in Portpatrick and there is also a coastal walk from Stranraer to Mull of Galloway.

There are also plenty of options for fishing and golfing in the area.

Why can't I call Elspeth (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Elspeth (the owner) a message.

If Elspeth (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
