Quando la tradizione salentina si sposa con il gusto e l'eleganza. La dimora offre il servizio di wifi gratuito, a/c, set cortesia ecocompatibile, TV led con programmazione SKY, impianto hi fi, lettore dvd, barbecue weber, doccia interna ed esterna. Un piccolo gioiello al margine di una lussureggiante pineta attraverso la quale, percorrendo una caratteristica scalinata bordata dalla macchia mediterranea, si raggiunge l' azzurro del nostro mare con le sue acque cristalline ed il centro di Santa Caterina.

Santa Caterina è bella esteticamente anche e soprattutto grazie alla sua architettura. Nella parte alta e soprattutto nella zona delle Cenate, lungo la strada che conduce a Nardò, ci sono decine di ville costruite principalmente tra la fine del 1800 e l'inizio del 1900. Ma ce ne sono di più antiche, risalenti anche fino al 1500. Gli stili di queste ville sono davvero molteplici: nel mezzo di ulivi secolari o pinete, potete trovarne alcune in stile barocco, altre in stile moresco con motivi orientali, altre in stile liberty. Alcune hanno dei motivi neoclassici e sono imponenti, mastodontiche, altre invece sono del tutto nascoste nella vegetazione.

Santa Caterina si trova tra Porto Cesareo e Gallipoli, molto più vicina a quest'ultima, circa una decina di chilometri. E' una frazione del comune di Nardò, situato un po' più nell'entroterra, città questa da visitare nel suo bellissimo centro storico a partire dalla piazza Salandra. Andando verso nord di Santa Caterina, nell'arco di pochi chilometri trovate il Parco Naturale di Porto Selvaggio con la meravigliosa Baia di Uluzzo e la Torre Uluzzo. Proseguendo trovate Serra Cicora, Torre Inserraglio, Sant'Isidoro e dopo circa 20 km Porto Cesareo. Andando verso sud di Santa Caterina, invece, trovate subito Santa Maria al Bagno e poi cominciate a immergervi nel territorio gallipolino con Lido Conchiglie e Rivabella. Addentrandovi nel territorio interno del Salento, da Santa Caterina è facile raggiungere le città di Galatone, Galatina e Copertino, oltre che quella di Nardò. La zona di Santa Caterina è costituita da una parte alta (collinare) e una parte sul lungomare. Spostandovi nell'entroterra, invece, in zona è possibile ammirare tra le masserie più belle del Salento, credetemi: Masseria dell'Alto, Masseria Brusca, Masseria Li Cafari, … A mio avviso è una zona di campagna tra le più belle da vedere quaggiù. Andando verso Porto Selvaggio ciò che colpisce è la vegetazione, composta prevalentemente da pino d'Aleppo e cipresso comune, acacie, tamerici e lecci. La pineta è fantastica ed è fantastica anche la cittadina stessa, composta in prevalenza di belle villette nella parte alta. Rispetto alle altre località, Santa Caterina, infatti, è più calma, riservata e quieta, ideale per chi volesse passare un periodo di vacanza nella tranquillità, con un mare chiarissimo e dei panorami a portata di sguardo, molto simili a quelli che potete vedere a go go lungo la litoranea Otranto – Santa Maria di Leuca: la Baia di Uluzzo è senza ombra di dubbio paragonabile a questi.

How do damage deposits work?
