As the house is built on a slope, Polluce D is effectively on the first floor, yet can be accessed either by a few steps via the garden or by a flight of external stairs from the lower level. Comfortably furnished in simple Tuscan style, it consists of a living room with settee and armchair (both of which can convert to beds on request), fireplace, satellite television, dining table and chairs and kitchen area. There are two bedrooms, one with double bed and the larger with double bed and single bed and two ensuite shower rooms. The living room opens onto a spacious covered terrace furnished with table and chairs for dining al fresco and at the entrance to the apartment is a pretty garden area where there is a barbeque, external shower and paved patio with a rocking sofa, table and chairs. A few steps away, built into the terraced land below the house, is a lovely swimming pool (12m x 6m) a wonderful spot for relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and taking a refreshing dip. The pool is shared only by guests staying at the three apartments Polluce D, E, F and at a separate villa in the grounds nearby. If a day by the sea tempts, the owners of the property have a stretch of private sand dunes on the coast to the north of Marina di Castagneto just 12 kms away, which they kindly put at the disposal of guests staying at the apartments. As well as being able to enjoy the beach and sea here, part of the dunes have a fenced in botanical garden aiming to preserve plants, flowers and rarer dune vegetation. Polluce D is in a lovely countryside location, surrounded by chestnut woods, yet the ancient characteristic hill town of Sassetta with its local shops and restaurant is just 800m away and can be reached on foot. There are a further selection of restaurants and amenities within easy driving distance towards the coast and there are a host of beaches, interesting local towns, nature parks and vineyards to visit. Further inland San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena are wonderful days out. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
