Less than 2 hours from Paris, the Loire Valley is known as France's Valley of the Kings as it was the chosen home of French royalty for centuries. It has always been a place of residence, pleasure, refinement, art and spectacular gastronomy.

Whilst you are visiting the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, why not take a pause and stop over at La Samsonelle gite in Fontevraud L'Abbaye, a stunning village ideally located for touring the Loire valley region, only 15 minutes from Saumur. You will discover a place where the words gentle life and charm are given their full meaning and where its inhabitants are happy to share with you the French country life with the gentle flow of the Loire river, beautiful landscapes and still active troglodytic villages.

La Samsonelle gîte is the perfect setting in which to relax and share in the joy of life and the appreciation of local touristic sites. Sylvie, Mark and their children will welcome you to an extremely cosy residence, to give you a maximum amount of comfort with many on-site facilities.
The visit of the Royal Abbey is a must where you can discover the effigies of some of the Plantagenêt kings and queens.

Although you are in the heart of the village, you will feel totally secluded as our garden is 2000m2. You will be sitting by the pond, listening to the frogs in the spring and summer or indulging in swimming in the heated sunken pool ( 7m x 5m)

On colder days, you can snuggle in front of the woodstove! We are fluent in English, French and German. Sylvie runs a language school teaching French to local residents and international francophiles. You will have an unforgettable stay! Gastronomic catering service available.

How do damage deposits work?
