“Beautiful setting, fantastic base from which to explore - a lovely holiday.”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2012

This was our first time to the Loire and we loved the area. The house was in a lovely setting with plenty of space for the children to run about in. We enjoyed the pool, often twice a day! There were plenty of places to sit and relax or eat in around the house. The area was ideal for walking or going out biking with our two children (6 and 7 years old). We explored some of the many castles in the area. John made us very welcome and kept us up to date with the Olympic news and even opened up his own house so we could watch some events. Mum and Dad stayed in the other property 'La Boulangerie' which was perfect in every way for them.

Response from the owner Thank you for the kind words we enjoyed your Company and hope to see you again in 2016. The wine harvest for 2014 and 2015 has produced some exceptional wine.

“a perfect holiday”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2012

We loved every minute of our stay here. Beautiful, peaceful location and really helpful, friendly owners on site who were there if we needed them. The children loved the private pool and were not really fussed about leaving the house. The smell of lavender as we walked to and from the pool will always be a memory for them! A great family holiday, especially if you want a taste of the 'real' France.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words it is always a pleasure have the Irish stay. 2014 and 2015 have produced excellent wines. Hope to see you again this year.

“the essence of rural france”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

John and Margaret were warm and welcoming. Well appointed cottage with comfortable bed and bedding. Garden was being crammed with flowers – would love to see it in mid-summer. The swimming pool/bbq area is in a wonderful position with great views. We particularly liked Montreuil Bellay which is one of the local towns and enjoyed cycling to the nearby village for our bread. We walked to Chateau de Ternay nearby which is well worth a visit and do ask John to direct you to the local viticultrice – the wine is great and very reasonable

Response from the owner Thank you again for the kind review. You will be glad to know that 2014 and 2015 has produced some excellent wines. Hope to see you again this year.
