Description

La Boulangerie with 500 year bread oven is on one side of the courtyard, attached to the historic 16th century entrance arch with the pigeonier above. You just walk up a slight incline to the Pool Garden to enjoy the lawn, flower beds and fruit trees and the 12m x 5m swimming pool with steps and patio providing a wonderfully relaxing area for swimming, sunbathing and alfresco dining. All set in our 2 acre secure walled gardens with lovely views of the surrounding fields of sunflowers, vines and forest.

It is an ideal base to be able to explore all that is offered in the surrounding region. Super for couple with young child (baby), cot, high chair provided.

Wonderful hosts! Great hospitality and perfect location for a restful stay yet plenty to do within short distance at the same time. Loved John's tomatoes and garlic, not forgetting a memorable tour of the caves! Thanks John and Margaret for a great holiday!

The setting is very picturesque and tranquil, with lots to see and do in the surrounding area. The numerous Chateaux are very impressive, with the nearest in Montreuil-Bellay being particularly pretty. There is also lots of wildlife and we were lucky enough to see wild deer and a great number of birds of prey. The property itself is full of character and beautifully presented. The garden and pool area are perfect for lazy sunny days. Our trip was made all the more special by our fantastic hosts John and Margaret. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and were always on hand, without being intrusive. Their kindness in inviting us into their home for a delicious meal and taking us to the local wine cave was way above their call of duty, but very much appreciated!

Had a very enjoyable week at this beautiful gite. Very clean and well prepared. Some complimentary provisions (including a bottle of wine) and fresh veg from the garden added to the welcoming atmosphere. A lovely pool (new loungers and seating) trees and pretty, well kept gardens, John and Margaret can be proud of the high standard of the facilities and the warm welcome they offer. If you are looking for a beautiful rural location this may be for you. Excellent for cycling - mostly flat with enough small undulations to keep it interesting and virtually no traffic with a small town or village every few Km.

How do damage deposits work?
