From the owner

Villa DCarik is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom villa situated in the village of Sayan, Ubud. Whilst the villa is conveniently located, only 4.5 km from Ubud Palace, you are afforded complete privacy, as it is set in the rice fields.

Finished in December 2014, the building features the predominate use of recycled teak. Using traditional craftsmanship, the centrepiece is the natural carved beams in the living area, which took 7 weeks to carve.To take advantage of the natural beauty of the area, we have decided to keep the kitchen, dining area and living space open. The warm tropical climate, means the gentle breeze of ceiling fans, is the only cooling necessary.

A fully equipped kitchen and a cook, means waking to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and your preferred breakfast. The living space seats 10 people and the natural Suar dining table can accommodate 12 people.

The distinction between the living area and the deck around the swimming pool, is defined by the change from a tiled floor to timber decking. This design rewards you with a sense of space and practicality, as the entire villa area is built on one level.

The infinity swimming pool looks out to the rice fields and Mt Agung. The swimming pool is salt chlorinated.

Each of the four air-conditioned bedrooms, has its own open-air bathroom complete with rain shower and garden. The two bedrooms under the main roof, have king size beds with mosquito nets, as well as an additional day bed, to allow for 3 guests in each of these rooms. One of these bedrooms (the gold room), offers the choice of being a twin room if necessary. Each room has a flat screen LED television and DVD player as well as safety box.

The two teak gladak bedrooms are individual buildings, bisected by the swimming pool. Built solely of recycled teak, they offer a glimpse of the past, but with western comforts. Each of these bedrooms, has a 4 poster king size bed with mosquito nets. Both gladak bathrooms have terrazzo bathtubs and rain showers with the orange room bathroom, offering views of the rice fields. The teak gladaks also have a private terrace, including a single chair and day bed to relax and watch the morning sunrise and Mt. Agung.

The villa comes with its own staff. A villa manager, cook, cleaners and security. Breakfast is included, free of charge. Other meals can be arranged on request (additional charge).

Access to the villa is via a 600 metre walking/motorcycle track. Your luggage will be transferred by the staff. Feeling adventurous jump on the back of a motorbike. With two mobile phones at your disposal, you are able to make contact with one another and to arrange for transport, massage and meals. All you need to do is add credit to the phone. 50,000 Rp (approx $5 AUS), would be enough for a 5 day stay. Important contact numbers are included in each phone, for your convenience.

We have local drivers who can assist with smaller trips, as well as transport to/from the airport. For those seeking half day or full day tours, we have a long time Balinese friend, who is a professional tour guide. Examples of tours are provided at the villa and Nyoman or the staff will be happy to discuss your requests to "experience" the real Bali.

We are also proud to extend to our guests, a dedicated massage therapist, for the exclusive use of villa guests. Booking can be make with Kadek, our villa manager.

Three night bookings include one way airport/hotel transfer to the villa, welcome drink and snack. Seven night bookings include return airport/hotel transfer to the villa, welcome drink and snack plus 4 complimentary 1 hour massages and a Bali nature walk experience.

On arrival the fridge is stocked with Bintang, mixers and a selection of snack food. All we ask is that you replace the supplies before leaving the villa.

Located 100 metres from our sister properties Villa DCarik 2 & 3, it offers guests the flexibility of independent accommodation for a maximum of 10 guests or with all villas booked together, a maximum of 22 guests.

The villa is staffed 24 hours a day and will be serviced daily, as well as security at night.

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Villa (the owner) a message.

If Villa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
