The apartment is a 60 Sq/Mt. flat at the second level of an ancient building (XII-XVI century), in the medieval centre of the town. The location is near the main square of the town (Piazza s. Maria).
It has has a big living and dining room (30 Sq/Mt), with a full equipped kitchen corner. In the living area, there are two single beds and a closeable fireplace. There are also a bathroom and a double big sleeping room, with a double bed.
The apartment has been completely renovated and it has electric power, hot water, drinkable water. Full heating gas. It is available year round.
SIGNS (800 m a.s.l) was founded 2,500 years ago by the first Roman Kings, as military and strategic outpost along the way to Naples. Of that period, the town conserves all the spectacular walls (6 Km) the town surroundings, many gates and the panoramic Acropolis (High place of the ancient town), with the remains of an italic temple, in Middle Age transformed in the Christian Church of s. Peter and a stunning view over the Lot Valley (at the foothill) and the Appenines Mountains.
All the historical centre has a medieval looking, full of houses, churches and characteristic streets. There are many cheap and good restaurants and you can buy a lot of typical local products: wooden cooked bread, sweets, chestnuts, local meat, ham and sausages, hand made pasta ...
Due to the altitude, summer is fresh, particularly at night (and without mosquitos).
The last week of October there is The Chestnut Fair, with a lot of exhibitions, the possibilities to consume typical local foods almost everywhere, to visit wine cellars ' old ' and to enjoy sreet music.
Signs is well linked to Rome (40-50), by bus, train (railway station is at Colleferro, 5 km far away, with a bus service from the town) and Motor Road (Rome-Naples, with exit at Colleferro).
It is possible to go to Naples (and Pompeii's ruins) by train, from Colleferro railways station, too.
The nearest airport is Rome Ciampino Airport, 40 Km far away, served by low cost companies as RyanAir, Air Berlin, Hapag LLoyd, EasyJet.
