Holt is on the Golden Circle, midst in the Southern lowlands with an easy access to some of the most impressive sights of Icelandic nature, like Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir. Only 1h and 15‘ from Reykjavik.

Tidy and fully equipped house with over 70 square meters ground floor and a roomy loft. The geothermal floor heating is really inviting and keeps you warm all the time.

There are two beautiful bedrooms downstairs, outfitted with the best beds available, one double and one that can be split up to twins. Upstairs are three single beds, great for the kids. A cosy living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Space for relaxation is in the room upstairs.

- With a door from the bathroom which opens directly up to the spa facilities at the terrace with an inviting infrared sauna, a soothing geothermal tub on the terrace, and even a wonderful warm shower outside,

- with 7000 square meters (almost 2 acres) property and a lot of free area all around giving you the peaceful feeling of real privacy,

- with the vibrant country side in the next neighbourhood

you'll definitely like staying at the quality cottage Holt.

A spacious terrace is around the house, offering a great view over the beautiful and naturally grown property, just as well as on the remote landscape –with a view to five glaciers and two of the most known volcanos of Iceland, Mt. Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull (Last eruptions 2000 and 2010).

This area is teeming with historic and cultural sites, great sights, interesting restaurants and all kinds of activities, not to forget challenging roads and tracks for 4x4 vehicles.

Holt can sleep up to 7 people on request. Please notice, if booked for more than 6 guests a surcharge of € 30,- pr. person, pr. night will apply.

We also run the quality cottages "Hamragil" by the town Akureyri up North (HL 1747494), "Tvera" at the south coast of the Westfjords (HL 1747488) and "Brekka" by the bay Hvalfjord just north of Reykjavik (HL 1717225).

Many, many thanks for your positive, informative and constructive review. We try our best to deliver "Stainless service", which means to have e.g. the kitchen fully equipped. We'll check out the ovenware a.s.a.p. The microwave is not so easy to solve -The kitchen is rather small and hard to place the microwave on the desk. Possibly a portable step, which isn't always in the way:-)? Anyhow, you're most welcome anytime, also to try out -maybe compare- some of the other cottages of the Nordic Lodges, which are somewhat bigger.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jon Baldur (the owner) a message.

If Jon Baldur (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
