“Fantastic break”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2017

Thoroughly enjoyed our break at the cottage, lots of nice walks and chilled in the hot tub. Would highly recommend.

Thanks Kirsty, glad you had a lovely time and relaxed. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Craig

“comfortable in a beautiful”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2017

Super comfortable and clean. The owner Craig is helpful and friendly. The house is situated literally two minutes from the Penine bridle way and some stunning Yorkshire countryside. The town is lovely and well equipped. Definitely would like to visit again!

Thank you for your kind review. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you'll come back and stay at the cottage again. Craig

“A gem of a cottage!!!”

Reviewed 2 May 2017

A beautiful little cottage with everything you need for the perfect home from home stay. The hot tub was a huge bonus and the perfect place to relax. The location is excellent and only a 2 minute walk into the village of Settle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

So pleased you had a lovely time, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Craig

“A Perfect Country Getaway”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2015

We came here for a trip away after our A-Levels. We had a wonderful time, spent days out walking (ask tourist information for good local walks, we did 3: Malham Tarn, The Waterfalls Trail and one straight from the doorstep) and afternoons dozing in the cosy lounge. The hot tub was a great addition to our celebrations, and Settle itself is a beautiful village. Restaurants to recommend are The Lion and The Traddock (though this was a surprise for us as it was VERY fancy, but a delicious meal nonetheless). The pub quiz at the Talbot was good to drop into, we didn't take part but realised we could have challenged the locals for the title after hearing the results! In terms of the cottage itself, the kitchen was well equipped, clean and new, and the bedroom was fine. Only issue was the parking: just be prepared for parking on the hill, but there is always space so no big worry. Stay here, its fantastic!

Many thanks for your kind review Maggie, we do hope we'll be able to welcome you back in the future. Craig.

“Ideal Location”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

The best thing about this cottage was the location. Never used the car while we were there. Everything was on the doorstep, excellent restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops, beautiful walks, cycling routes and the settle station. Couldn't really get used to the 'upside down' set up in the cottage with the bedrooms and bathroom being downstairs. It felt like you were walking down in the basement when you went to bed and the bathroom didn't have any windows. Both the bedrooms and bathroom felt very dark and a little damp. Having said that the upstairs lounge was very pleasant and the kitchen was excellent. If you are into 'hot tubs' then I guess you would like this cottage as it did seem to be one of the main features. However, we are not, so didn't actually use it. The whole of the outside, especially on the back, could do with a lick of paint on the windows and decking. We did enjoy our few days away, but probably wouldn't actually stay in this cottage again.....

“Excellent - home form home, great location, hot tub fab”

Went to Victoria cottage with my wife for a weeks break, first visit and we'll be back. Lovely, clean high standard cottage, with everything you need in the kitchen. Hot tub is fantastic after a days walking. One of bes places ever stayed.

“The best holiday cottage we have every stayed at”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2012

From the moment you walk through the front door you can tell you are in for a treat. The cottage has a warm, friendly inviting feeling to it which it lives up to throughout your stay. Everything possible is provided to ensure your stay is comfortable and the hot tub is a bonus. The cottage is only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Settle which is a bustling vibrant market town, with plenty of different places to eat and drink. My 82 year old mother fell in love with the Naked Man Cafe and declared it her second favourite place after the cottage! It is the ideal place to relax in after touring the Dales. We have stayed here quite a few times and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Yorkshire.
