From the owner

We are pet-friendly, and welcome a maximum of TWO well-behaved dogs at Little Springs Farm by prior arrangement - please enquire at time of booking.

Little Springs Farm Cottage is the perfect retreat from the hubbub of modern day life. A truly peaceful location for a romantic break or a base for exploring the surrounding area. The Cottage is detached, and situated at the end of a long driveway, 50 yards from the owners' house. It has a self-contained private patio - perfect for al fresco dining, or just soaking up the peace and quiet.

Located in Shropshire, one of England's hidden treasures, which offers holiday makers so much: wonderful scenery, fantastic walking, ancient market towns, castles, stately homes and museums. It is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution back in 1779 when Abraham Darby built the first Iron Bridge, and Much Wenlock is the home of the Wenlock Olympic Games, which are thought to have inspired the modern Olympic Games that began in 1896.

Little Springs Farm Cottage is just an hour and a half West of Birmingham, and being only 3.5 miles from Much Wenlock is strategically placed to enjoy all the County has to offer. With inspiring views along Wenlock Edge, and being situated near the Jack Mytton Way (one of the longest bridleways in England) visitors can explore the Edge and the Long Mynd, 4000 acres of spectacular wild countryside. Spend your days on country walks or browsing the ancient market towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton - to name just a few - or explore the ten exciting Museums in the Ironbridge Gorge. Relax in the evenings at a local pub or just sit on the patio, maybe with a BBQ, and watch the sun go down over the Shropshire Hills. And if it gets chilly, you can retire to the cosy living room and watch the flames of the Log Burner. There is just so much to see and do it is hard to squeeze it all into just a few days.

The Cottage is all on one level, and has a comfortable sitting/dining room with oak flooring, a beamed vaulted ceiling, exposed original stonework and a feature Clearview wood burning stove. There is a Smart TV with DVD/CD player, a table-for-two and a large sofa.

An archway leads through to a fitted, fully equipped kitchen with full-sized LPG cooker, dishwasher and under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, together with a microwave, kettle and toaster.

A door from the living room opens into a light and airy double bedroom, with a further door leading into the modern shower room, with a white suite of WC, vanity basin and large shower.

The cottage also offers a secluded and private paved courtyard to the front, with extensive views over Wenlock Edge, a patio table and chairs, and a gas barbecue. There is private parking opposite.

The rental cost of the cottage includes bed linen, towels, electricity, central heating and a generous supply of kindling and logs for the wood burner (further logs can be purchased at cost price).

On arrival, you will find a Welcome Pack of milk, bread and a box of eggs laid by our own free-range chickens, together with initial supplies of tea, coffee and sugar, and household items such as kitchen roll, loo rolls, cling film, foil, washing-up liquid, etc.

Dear Michael and Lucia, Thank you for your comprehensive and kind review. It must be testament to your excellent forward planning and organisational skills that you managed to cram so much into a week's stay! There is plenty more to see and do in the Shropshire countryside, however, and we would love to be able to welcome you back to Little Springs for some more exploration! Kind regards, Su and Ron.
