From the owner

The guesthouse is located on our farm called Steinn, it means ´Rock'. We are located just north from the town of Sauðárkrókur in the region Skagafjörður. On our farm you can enjoy the great outdoors, you see the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other, with spectacular views over the entire fjord. We have some sheep, horses and some other farm animals. The guesthouse has a completely equipped kitchen, the shop is only a 10 minute drive away ( and open til 22:00h).

Whether you wish to go white water rafting down foaming glacial rivers; helicopter skiing on the Tröllaskagi mountain range; horse riding in an amazing and unique landscape; sailing to the majestic island of Drangey; delve into history through this saga rich region; relax in a natural hot spring; enjoy the magic of the northern lights in the winter stillness; indulge in excellent food prepared from local produce... or just lay back and relax and enjoy the stay. You come to the right place...

Just a short drive away on the same road you can enjoy a relaxing bath in a natural geothermal pool called Grettislaug, in a stunning environment. From the same place you can take a boat tour to the island Drangey and enjoy the puffins and spectacular scenery in the summertime. In wintertime the skiing area is just a 15 minutes drive away, just on the other side of the mountain you can see when looking out your bedroom window. You can just go hiking from the doorstep of the guesthouse, or just relax and enjoy the view

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Annemie (the owner) a message.

If Annemie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
