Traditional but modernised stone vilage house in the beautiful island of Skopelos, famous for the Mama Mia movie. Lovely large terrace and balcony with spectacular island, sea and sunset views - among the best views on the island.
The house is in Palio Klima, at the quieter northern end of the island. Palio Klima is known for its peace and climate but is close to the larger hill town of Glossa with a maze of streets hiding a good range of local cafes, tavernas (including the island's best restaurant, Agnanti) and essential shops such as a small supermarket and excellent artisan bakery. Down the hill is the harbour of Loutraki, with more tavernas and the ferry service to Skiathos, Alonissos, and the mainland. There is superb walking directly from the house with trails leading through the cool woods to little coves.
The house itself has a charming living room with feature stone wall and traditional Greek fireplace, a separate dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a master bedroom with beamed vaulted ceiling and breakfast balcony on the first floor. This room has air conditioning for a good night's sleep. The shower room is on the ground floor and is large and well equipped. The living room has a double sofa bed for additional guests.
There is plenty of room on the vine covered terrace which also has a jacuzzi - a great spot for sundowners before going out for the evening.
There are 7 beaches within 8km - all with different aspects and characters, and the famous 'Mama Mia' church is 15 minutes away. Skopelos town can be reached in 30 minutes by car or the local bus service which stops nearby.
