VILLA MIMOSA - is located in one of the most desirable locations on the island. Situated 1/2 between bustling Skopelos Town and the stunning beaches of Stafilos and Velanio, the best of both worlds await (2km from each). Newly refurbished for the summer season 2017, Villa Mimosa is shiny new from furnishings, beds, kitchen appliances, the works! The beautiful open beamed ceilings and large windows take in the wonderful light and sea breezes that Greece is known for.
TOP FLOOR: The main living spaces are located on the top floor allowing sweeping views of the valley of Stafilos covered in velvety olive groves. In the distance is the azure blue of the Agean, just enough to see the ferries and pleasure boats as they enter the harbor. Directly opposite the villa is the mountain of Palouki where if you are lucky enough to arrive for the full moon, it's a spectacular sight rising over the mountain. From it's lofty position and set just at the edge of a thick Mediterranean pine forest, one feels removed from all of the stresses of every day life at Villa Mimosa.
Villa Mimosa is a 2 level villa comprising the living, dining room, kitchen and WC on the top level. This includes a full width balcony from the kitchen side to the living room side and ample seating at the outdoor table and seating area for alfresco meals. The kitchen has a convenient 'hand-out' window to serve meals easily on the balcony.
GROUND LEVEL: The ground level is comprised of 3 bedrooms and a large bathroom with shower/tub. The Master bedroom has private access to the bathroom without exiting the bedroom and is furnished with the most luxuriously large king bed one can imagine! An American king sized (193 cm x 203 cm), pillow top mattress awaits to catch up on snoozing during your much-deserved holiday! There is a huge closet/chest of drawers and a desk for those who must get some work done while on holiday. The good news is the views are still stunning from the office area in the master bedroom. The many windows allow lots of light and cool breezes even during the heat of the summer. The master bedroom is also equipped with air-conditioning.
The 2nd bedroom is furnished with an American queen sized bed (154 cm x 203 cm) and again boasts a luxury pillow-top mattress. Plenty of closet space and chest of drawers, this room is decorated in soft grey, has plenty of light and is equipped with air conditioning.
The 3rd bedroom is furnished in a light and bright style of sky blues and whites. A white iron day bed comprises the main sleeping facility with a twin trundle easily accessed for further sleeping accommodation. American comfort mattresses (99x191 cm) are of highest quality and are plenty large for adults or children. The window facing the forest allows for a soothing sleep with plenty of light. There is a long balcony running the front length of the bedroom level of the villa across bedroom 1 & 2.
The large bathroom on this level has a shower/bathtub, privacy wall at toilet and has a large mirror. There is a washing machine in this bathroom with laundry drying area just out the bottom back door for convenience. Again, there is a private door directly from the master bedroom to the bathroom, and a 2nd door from the hallway for the other bedrooms to access.
EXTERIOR AND SETTING: Villa Mimosa is set on a full acre of land covered in olive trees and backing on a lush pine forest, privacy and tranquility are the norm. The villa is set at the highest build-able point of the property so the views are lofty and expansive! 60 olive trees belong to the property and a long driveway leads to the home which is far away from the road. The convenient location of the villa, just 2 km from Skopelos Town, and 2 km from two of it's most beautiful and popular beaches make this the best spot on the island in our opinion! Plus - there is a supermarket and a hotel (Alkystis) with a public, Olympic sized swimming pool that includes a swim-up bar! The hotel also has a restaurant and pool bar food which are both excellent. These are both within a 5 minute walk to the villa! A nice 20 minute stroll to Skopelos Town is a slight downhill grade (the opposite returning!). Stafilos Beach can be reached in about a 30 minute walk including the steep grade that leads down to the beach from the main road. There are several restaurants along with way - Terpsis serves a famous prune-stuffed chicken and there are a few tavernas at Stafilos Beach.
