Lemonia Cottage is a charming country cottage with a sleeping gallery under the timbers of its wood-beamed ceiling and a living/dining room area with a traditional log-burning stove, cosy furniture and pleasant décor - all ensuring a holiday with the atmosphere of a real Greek home. With numerous windows, the space is light and airy and enjoys splendid views from the living room and dining area. The small but newly fitted kitchen is well-equipped and has a large window kitchen that allows for good lighting as well as lovely views to the pool and sea beyond whilst preparing meals. The new w/c shower room with washing machine is just off the kitchen.

The wooden sleeping gallery is reached via a narrow spiral staircase and looks down into the living room. In the days of old, this area was traditionally covered with wide mattresses allowing sleeping space for all the family together during olive or fruit picking season. Today, this quaint little sleeping area is tastefully decorated and has space for two people (head room is restricted due to roof angle). It is furnished with double bed, a roomy wardrobe and its low window on the front wall has wonderful views down the valley to the harbour below.

Exterior:

Lemonia Cottage is traditionally painted with blue shutters and whitewashed walls. With mature gardens set in the midst of an olive grove, it is evident this country cottage was used by the family in bygone years when working the land. Today, its old world charm is kept alive in this restored cottage with sweeping views of velvety olive-clad hillsides spilling down to the whitewashed houses of the town and sea and across the sea to the neighbouring island of Alonissos.

The front of the cottage has a spacious veranda, furnished with a table and plenty of outdoor seating for al fresco dining. It is partially covered by a pergola with an old winding grape vine, its leaves providing respite from the midday sun. Just below is the swimming pool, set in a cluster of Cypress trees and taking advantage of fabulous views. Enjoy the quiet morning sunshine with only the sounds of nature around and warm afternoons lounging by your private pool.

SURROUNDINGS

The cottage is set on a hillside and is accessed by a narrow, steeply winding road (good driving skills necessary) just above the town centre. Just a 7-minute drive in the car, brings you to the beautiful harbour front of Skopelos town with its maze of cobbled streets filled with shops, restaurants and cafes.

Lemonia Cottage is great for walkers as well. The hillsides surrounding it are covered with old donkey paths and dirt tracks. From the harbour front to the cottage is about a 25-minute walk (mostly uphill!) . The route passes a fresh water spring with an inlaid sarcophagus lid that dates from the 5th century B.C. This same road belongs to a 300 year-old road network linking Skopelos town with Glossa. You can reach the small beach of Glyfoneri by walking for approximately 45 minutes, where you will find an array of typical tavernas with fantastic views to the sea.

House rules

We are happy to share our beloved cottage with selected guests from around the world. Please respect our property, as it is private and taken care of with lots of love.
No parties, no smoking in the house, please only use waterproof sunscreen by the pool & only take plastic glasses & dishes to the pool.
No secret feeding of the neighbours cats, as they will hang around our house which other guest might not like.
We will be grateful if you decide to water our beautiful garden sometimes at sundown

How do damage deposits work?
