Founded in 1970 and run since by the Tranadar family, Lala Prince is a beautifully decorated, clean, simple, warm and welcoming family houseboat on the Jhelum River in Srinagar.

If you're looking for a quiet and quaint place to relax and enjoy the wonders of Kashmir, this house boat would be perfect for you.

Located on the river, it is 10 minutes walk from the main lake (The Dal Lake) 5 minutes from the central bus station, 5 minutes from the main market and the modern area of the city. While its location is central, it's also private and very quiet.

Access to the house boat is via a foot bridge, so unlike the main lake, you don't need to worry about getting boats in and out and you are free to roam as you wish.

As part of your stay with us, we are offering you a intimate and authentic experience of the Kasmiri culture as well as guidance around Srinagar and the Kashmiri landscape.

As hosts, we see your comfort and your enjoyment as our aim. We all speak fluent English and offer local guided tours of the city, arranged trekking to the local natural preserves, traditional Kashmiri meals and tea, and company, if you so wish.

Our house boat offers full amenities: apart of your private room, including extra comfy beds, bedding, a private bath and shower room, with constant hot water supply, ceiling fans, western style toilet and Wifi internet connection, we also have our common dining room, living room and a small porch where you can spend your days at ease.

The hospitality was so good. Mr.Yusuf served me and my friend really friendly and it just felt like home. The room and the dinner were great tho. I really appreciate the bargaining price they offered

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Lee (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
