Response from the manager
From the owner... Just to reassure future guests that although there was a problem with the lighting in the cottage this was due to the fitting itself not working rather than an electrical fault. I informed the guests of this on arrival and also informed them that an electrician had been called - unfortunately he failed to attend during their stay, a situation over which I had no control. (The fitting has now been replaced.) I greet all guests on arrival and tell them that we are usually on hand if they encounter any problems - no other faults were reported to me during their stay. As for the cottage showing signs of age I can only say that the photographs on the website were taken this year and that we have retained our four star status in this year's Visit Wales inspection. Finally as to the farm lane - a long lane is the price to pay for being in a beautiful location I've been driving along it since I passed my test in 1976 with no damage to my cars (and I drive a Ford Fiesta not a 4x4!!)
