Fisherman's Cottage is a charming, newly refurbished property just a stone's throw from the sea in the oldest part of St Mawes village. The perfect place to relax and enjoy all the stunning Roseland Peninsula and picturesque St Mawes has to offer.
The great thing about Fisherman's Cottage is that its a really cosy, homely environment, tucked away on a quiet street; yet its practically bang in the middle of the lively seaside village of St Mawes, with pubs and restaurants just minutes away.
The cottage, along with the others in the same street, was built in the 1700s to accommodate local fishermen. We renovated the cottage in 2013, creating a warm, comfortable modern interior, whilst retaining its original character and features.
The front stable door opens on to a large bright sitting room area with loads of sofa space and a lovely log fire (in the colder months of the year you'll get a free bag of firewood). There is a HD TV, Blu-ray player and NowTV box tucked discretely away in the corner cupboard - just in case you're unlucky with the weather!
To the rear of the sitting room is a kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is new and well equipped. There is slimline dishwasher, fan oven, induction hobs, toaster, kettle and microwave.
Through the kitchen is a small utility area with the washer/dryer which opens to the sun deck at the rear of the cottage and a downstairs loo.
The sun deck is really the jewel of the cottage's crown. There's a great view of the harbour and sea beyond, a table for some al fresco dining and a BBQ for those lazy summer evenings.
Upstairs, the large double bedroom is a decent size, with plenty of storage space. There is also a more compact double room - the bed here is only accessible on one side - and a twin bunk room at the rear of the cottage.
The bathroom is bright and fresh and has a bath with a shower over.
WiFi is provided. We now have BT Infinity installed, so you can expect download speeds of 40Mb - more than enough for HD streaming and multiple users.

If you're unlucky enough not to get a space outside the house, there is a public car park 200m away where you can park for £25 per week.
Notes on accommodation:
Guests should be aware that the small double and bunk rooms are somewhat compact when sleeping 2 per room. In the small double room, the bed is against the wall/window on one side and is only accessible from the right-hand side or at the bottom. The bunk room is also fairly small, although the room is very well organised and has ample storage. Both beds have a bedside lamp and shelf and are full sized singles.
We don't think the size of the smaller bedrooms will be an issue for most people (it isn't for us!), but please do have a good look at the photos before booking.
