Description

Villa Maria is a beautifully designed, modern and well equipped three bedroom villa with spectacular views of the White Mountains from the spacious roof terrace and just a short ten minute drive to lovely beaches.

Downstairs there is a comfortable lounge and dining area with ample seating for six adults with patio doors leading to the shady veranda, extensive private gardens, orange trees and a fenced pool. A fast broadband connection helps keep you connected to the outside world but you may choose instead to relax around the pool (7x4m) soaking up the sun or to sit up on the roof terrace furniture or in our swinging chair under the parasol, in cooling breezes overlooking the beautiful views of the mountains. This is an amazing place to do some star gazing at night too!

A modern, gleaming kitchen, equipped with everything you will need for your stay leads from the dining area. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with adjacent toilet, washbasin and shower room. Upstairs are a further two bedrooms, a twin room and a super king sized double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Both upstairs bedrooms have their own balconies with views to the mountains and surrounding countryside. Chairs are provided so you can sit out here and take in the countryside views.

Private walled gardens surround the villa with over 30 orange trees and flower beds. Lawns and patio areas surround the lovely pool, which is fenced so little ones can wander in safety. There is a small fish pond in the corner of the garden which is uncovered but surrounded by flowers.

Peacefully positioned in a quiet lane, just a two minute, level walk from the traditional village of Stylos, Villa Maria is 35 minutes from Chania airport, two hours from Heraklion and ten minutes drive from the lovely beaches at Kalyves and Almyrida. Many other wonderful beaches are within easy reach and well worth a visit. Elafonissi is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with pink sand and warm, turquiose, shallow sea and is about an hour and a half away.

The village of Stylos is a quiet and pretty traditional Cretan village with the ancient Byzantine Church of St John standing next to a modern domed church. The Diktamos Gorge, a beautiful 8km walk through lush trees can be accessed from the village. A number of tavernas are only a two minute walk away and serve traditional Cretan food. One minute walk around the corner, there is a very well stocked mini-market which sells fresh bread and produce, as well as all essentials. The spring water which flows down the mountains and bubbles up in a pool in the centre of the village is bottled in the bottling plant at the other end of the village and is served locally in all the tavernas. Ten minutes drive away is the nearby small town of Kalyves which is on the coast and has many beachside tavernas and cafes, as well as a wide range of shops and services and a large supermarket. This is a perfect place to relax and spend time exploring both the beaches and history of this wonderful island.

How do damage deposits work?

If Carey (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
