Situated on the border of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Tees Valley, Blackthorn Gate provides an exit from urban life and an entry into rural peace and tranquillity. You can stay at one of our four luxury lodges and enjoy spectacular views of Roseberry Topping plus, importantly, have the whole National Park stretching out in front of your door!
Blackthorn Gate is an outdoor delight. You can enjoy exclusive fishing access to the farm's three fully stocked ponds. You can walk on the public footpaths that cross the farm, just a short distance from your door. You can seek out the many birds and other wildlife that live on the farm. Or you can just sit back and soak up the tranquillity.

Our lodges have been designed to make your visit as comfortable and memorable as possible. Each one has a large picture window giving a fantastic view of Roseberry Topping, at the heart of the Cleveland Hills and is also equipped with a sauna, veranda, master en-suite, drying room, flat screen television, dvd player.

If you wish, there is little need to use your car once you arrive. The fishing ponds are here, as are footpaths and wildlife. There are three restaurants close by. However, there are also a wealth of local attractions to visit if you wish. The whole of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is on your doorstep! The moors, the coastline, the market towns, the attractions and more!

We offer full weeks and short breaks. Our Weekend Break is 3 nights from Friday and our Mid Week Break is 4 nights from Monday.

Why can't I call Mike (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mike (the owner) a message.

If Mike (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
