Response from the owner
Thank you for the title, “Fine House in a Fine setting” however we were surprised and disappointed to receive the rest of your review. Our cleaning team reported that shortly after 2 pm on the Saturday they were startled to firstly hear then see a Mercedes, with a lot of wheel spin, coming up the drive. The cleaning team drive various vehicles up the drive and have never had any issue. They reported to us that the elderly couple who got out of the car said that they had booked Ardfyne. They apologised for being very early but asked if it would it be possible to sit on the couch in the decked area at the front of the house. The cleaners said that they were welcome to sit but the cleaning of the house was not complete as it is a 4pm access. We do not understand the comments on beds. As can be seen from our photographs a number of the beds are heavy oak beds, there is a contemporary metal bed in the upstairs double and the twin room has wooden beds with leather headboards. We are also puzzled that according to the booking there were only 4 adults and a child as guests so there was considerable choice in which bedroom and which beds to use. In addition all the mattresses have been replaced within the last year. We do understand that guests have different preferences with regard to mattresses so we have chosen from a medium to firm range. Over the last 8 years our 69 excellent reviews on this holiday site indicate that guests have been delighted with Ardfyne and its facilities.
