This Top-floor (2nd floor) apartment was until recently part of a painter's studio home. The accompanying photographs will show you the interior.

You can read all about the painter on the front door of the house - 12A Institute Road.

The apartment's chief attraction is its location in the very heart of Swanage right on top of the beach, which can be seen, 100 yards away from the front windows. Public transport, shops and restaurants are just outside the door.

It has character and it couldn't be more central! You can easily do without a car. Park in one of the four parking areas near the town center or wherever you can find a place..

The apartment is cosy and spacious and offers a real experience of traditional England, and a typical English seaside holiday in a setting of great natural beauty preserved by the National Trust, also known as the Jurassic coast of Dorset. It's all very rural, consisting mostly of cliff, rolling hills, seascape and open countryside. It is best suited for walks, sightseeing excursions, literary associations, safe bathing on sandy beaches, golfing, rock climbing, fishing, scuba diving and other water sports.This part of Dorset is also rich in history from Celtic hill forts, Saxon walls, Norman castles to World War II radar stations. Dorset was also the home of the famous English poet and novelist, Thomas Hardy, and its villages and towns, hills and heathlands are rich in associations with his writings.

The apartment is only available on a weekly basis and during the summer months, Saturday to Saturday.

Spacious and well equipped, with very friendly helpful owners. We aim to go again! Double bedroom and 2 beds at end of lounge, so ideal for a family.

Why can't I call Jane (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jane (the owner) a message.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
