OFF THE GRID, AND AWAY FROM THE CROWDS! Caribou Lodge is a fly-in lodge and only accessible by bush plane or helicopter. Just a short flight from the famous little town of Talkeetna. The lodge is nestled in the foothills of the Talkeetna Mountains on a remote lake just southeast of Denali National Park. We are actually closer to DENALI than the park headquarters. There are 2 outhouses, and a shower house for all guests. There is NO indoor plumbing in the guest cabins. The location of the lodge is right at tree line where the Taiga forest gives way to the Alpine tundra. With the lodge sitting on the only privately-owned piece of land within miles and given the fact that the lake is surrounded by undevelopable state land, we do have this beautiful piece of paradise and the lake all to ourselves.. The lodge offers fantastic views of DENALI and the Alaskan Range to the west and to the east overlooking the lake stands the beautiful Talkeetna Mountains. Wildlife is generally good in the area. Caribou, moose, grizzly bears, sheep, black bears, wolves, coyotes, fox, wolverine, ermine, otters, eagles, short-eared owls, ptarmigan, ducks, loons, Canadian geese, and swans have all been observed from the comfort of the lodge and the cabins. Do keep in mind, it is wild country as it was meant to be. We are NOT located in a national park or a game preserve.

Wildflowers abound mid July through early August, berries come ripe about then as well.

We know this country and wildlife well and enjoy sharing the experience with a limited number of guests. For many, we are THE highlight of their Alaskan Vacation. We will do our best to be yours. Don't miss us!

We are a small and personal operation, some say its like your own "Denali Park without the crowds", Caribou Lodge offers a relaxed learning experience with an Alaskan wilderness family. Again, we are a fly in lodge and can make all flight arrangements for you if you desire. Please contact us for reservations, space is limited.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    How do I edit my booking?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Zac (the owner) a message.

    If Zac (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
