first of all I want to thank you for having found the time to review your experience in Taormina, and thank you also for the suggestions given as they are very important to us.
However, I would like to point out a few things, which I had explained to you in part when you were in Taormina, but probably I haven't done it as i wished.
For the rats issue I was deeply mortified as it never happened before and I was the first one to be very upset, and also surprise, about it.
What happened, and it was explained, is that someone in the area was derattling, so we have faced with the choices of others who obviously caused problems to all of us and did not even inform us.
However, we have promptly acted. The disturbance caused lasted an afternoon giving us time to disinfect everything, work done mostly for your daughters and making sure all was absolutely fine.
One afternoon out of 15 in which, just waiting for everything to return to normal, I advised to go to the beach instead than staying by the pool. It was just my extra care asking you to not stay there that afternoon as I wanted to make sure everything could get back perfect as it was before this event.
Electricity. It was explained that the apartment can hold a maximum of 3kW, common voltage for apartments.
The problem could, and was, easily circumvented simply by turning off a device, one that was not needed in that moment, while waiting for the dishwasher and the washing machine to finish.
There are limits beyond which we can not go. An apartment is not an hotel and the voltage allowed is the one all houses have.
Heat and Air Con.
Last summer was incredibly hot, temperatures were very high, as never happened before, at least that we can remember.
Very rarely we reached 40 degrees but above all, it never happened that it could last for weeks as happened last year that was the hottest in the last 100 years.
There are two air con, not only one as you wrote.
One is located in the living room and the other one in the secondary living room, part of the main room that occasionaly is used as extra room in case guests are more than 4,.
The apartment is also equipped with fans with dehumidifier located in each room.
But it was very hot, it is true, in fact we gave you a second key, as the electricity works with a key tied to the house key, letting you run the air con 24/24 for 2 weeks, because you wanted to find the house cool when back from you daily walk in town.
So also in this case, the problem was solved very quickly, and lasted the first night and the morning after I provided you the extra key.
Finally, when I was called because of the water from the roof, even if I have not updated you about what we were doing about it, I remind that in August, especially mid-August it is very difficult to find someone to do jobs because everybody is on holiday, we had actually provided immediately.
A pipe had broken, and in the apartment above we have been without running water for 3 days, time needed to find someone available in these dates to come over, break the entire kitchen floor, find and change the leaking pipes.
I am really surprise you say it was not attended, as I came down immediately, and tried to sort this our as soon as possibile as the ones more affected by this problem were us, as we did not have water for days.
I am really sorry that out all effort made for making your stay as pleasant as possibile didn't come, I was sure you noticed how fast and helpful we have been trying to be, making our best to sort any problem out without letting you wait too long.
I also hoped you appreciated the fact that, even if the garden and swimming pool area is shared with my family, we have left you pretty much the whole use as exclusive coming down just for the daily work that has to be done with such big gardens and pool.
